Unless otherwise noted, the ratings numbers below are based on the final overnights and may vary slightly from the preliminaries reported on the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site.
Ratings Results of Interest: On Monday last week, MTV’s Scream improved slightly with its second episodes to a 0.27 rating with about half a million total viewers. Its Season 2 debut the prior week was on Memorial Day which is not the best time to schedule a TV series premiere. That show dropped out of the Weekly Nielsen Twitter Top 10 (see Charts section below), but it was still in the Daily Top 5 last Monday. With its social network “stickiness” and passable ratings for an MTV entry, it should be safe for now. On Wednesday, FOX’s Wayward Pines slipped to a 0.7 rating with 2.4 million total viewers. It has been down all season, but previously at about the same level of decline as what the regular season shows experienced. But now it is at marginal at best numbers and has very little leeway for further slippage. The premiere did see a 100% gain in Live+7 delayed viewing which the broadcast networks may pay more attention to for Summer shows than they do for the regular season entries. On Sunday, AMC’s Preacher slipped to a 0.7 rating with 1.8 million total viewers, but it was still the sixth most-watched cable original for the night and should still be okay for now. Note that TNT decided to postpone the Season 3 premiere of The Last Ship on Sunday following the Orlando shooting incident because it has a scene showing gunmen invading a Vietnamese nightclub. No word yet on if they are just going to shift it to this coming Sunday (TV Guide currently shows the next scheduled episode in the listings).

Chart Activity: Game of Thrones slipped in Weekly Nielsen Twitter Rating Top 10 for the week, going from the Number 2 slot to Number 6 (not as tweet-worthy of an episode?). Scream slipped out of the Top 10 for its second Season 2 episode, but it was still in the Daily Top 5 last Monday. Game of Thrones improved to Number 1 in both the cable Top 25 based on the overnights for the 18-49 demographic and total viewers. Person of Interest only had a Tuesday episode last week and it slipped to Number 24 in the broadcast net Top 25 based on the overnights and Number 11 based on total viewers.
