Apple TV+ has given an early fourth season renewal to its supernatural drama Servant, and the show will be wrapping up at that point. Executive producer M. Night Shyamalan had originally intended for the show to go for six seasons, but then changed the target to four. Servant will reach that mark giving the creative team the chance to wrap up its storylines. The streaming services typically cap off their originals around the third or fourth season mark because diminishing returns on new subscriptions usually set in around that point. This will be the first Apple TV+ show to make it to the four season mark, so it remains to be seen whether that three-to-four season wall will hold up for this streamer. Viewership data is not available for Servant because Apple TV+ was not included in the Nielsen Streaming Rankings when the prior season was released (but that streamer is now included in the numbers). The show has been well received by critics and viewers so far, currently holding an 85% Fresh Rating and 77% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. The third season is set to premiere on January 21st.
Servant focuses on a Philadelphia couple mourning a great loss which creates a rift in their marriage allowing a mysterious force to enter their home. It stars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free, and Rupert Grint.
