Digital Ratings:

The Nielsen Streaming Rankings appear to have shifted their schedule and are now even a further week behind unless they catch up at some point.  For the week of November 8th through 14th, Netflix’s Locke & Key was the only genre entry in the Top 10 for originals.  It slipped to the Number 7 slot with 409 million minutes of viewing, but that one has already been renewed for a third season.  In the Top 10 movies, the MCU film Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings became available on Disney+ and shot up to Number 2 with 1.1 billion minutes viewed.  And Jungle Cruise returned to the Top 10 for Disney+ placing at Number 3 with 908 million minutes viewed. Following are all the sci fi and fantasy entries on the streaming charts for the week (the number in parenthesis is the prior week rank):

Ratings Results of Interest:

On Tuesday, The Flash held steady at a 0.17 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 717K total viewers for the conclusion to its five-episode Armageddon event.  The show returns with new episodes in March and should be on track for a ninth season renewal.  In the lead-out hour, Riverdale slipped to a 0.06 rating in the demo with 290K total viewers for its Mid-Season finale.  The numbers are down for that one this season, but it makes up slack in digital viewing and should be on track for a sixth season renewal, though that could be its last.  On Monday, 4400 improved slightly to a 0.09 score with 395K total viewers for its Mid-Season finale.  That one looks to have a decent chance for a second season renewal at this point. The full numbers for this week will be included in the Tuesday Sci Fi TV Update post.

Renewal Announcement:

Apple TV+ has given an early fourth season renewal to its supernatural drama Servant, and the show will be wrapping up at that point.  Executive producer M. Night Shyamalan had originally intended the show to go for six seasons, but then changed the target to four. Servant will reach that mark giving the creative team the chance to wrap up its storylines.  Viewership data is not available for Servant because Apple TV+ was not included in the Nielsen Streaming Rankings when the prior season was released (the streamer is now included in the numbers).  The show has been well received by critics and viewers so far, currently holding an 85% Fresh Rating and 77% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.  The third season is set to premiere on January 21st.

Sci Fi TV News of Note:

Jon Hamm has been confirmed to be returning in the role of Archangel Gabriel for the second season of Amazon’s Good Omens. Doon Mackichan will also be returning, reprising the role of Michael, and they will be joined by Gloria Obianyo (Dune), Liz Carr (Devs), Quelin Sepulveda (The Man Who Fell to Earth), and Shelley Conn (The Irregulars). Series stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen were already announced to be returning for the second season which continues the story based on the book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett . . . Netflix will be doing a live-action adaptation of the western comic The Hated, created by writer David F. Walker and artist Sean Daniel Hill.  That series takes place in an alternate history where the Civil War ends in a truce and the country splits into two very different nations.  The focus is on the femaled lead Araminta Free who is a former slave turned bounty hunter tracking down kidnapped slaves and war criminals . . . Danny Elfman will be pairing up with Tim Burton once again as he will score the them music for the upcoming Addams’ Family reboot Wednesday which has Burton attached as executive producer. Sci Fi TV Schedule:

Apple TV+ has announced February 18th as the premiere date for its dystopian corporate drama Severance which stars Adam Scott.  Next week, not many shows will be airing new episodes because of the holidays, but there are still a few offerings of note for sci fi and fantasy fans.  On Tuesday, FOX’s Fantasy Island returns with a two-hour holiday special.  Then of Friday, the Korean space-based series The Silent Sea will have its debut on Netflix with all episodes available for viewing that day.  Also next week, Hawkeye will have its season finale on Disney+ and The Wheel of Time wraps up its first season on Amazon.  Mid-Season is almost upon us, and you can see the schedule at this link.
