Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
It is a holiday week, but it brings three premiers for sci fi/fantasy TV shows, all of which are on the streaming services.
Hawkeye (Premieres on Disney+ November 24th): Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit. The first two episodes will be available for streaming on Wednesday and the show will release one ep per week after that.
Supercrooks (Premieres on Netflix November 25th): Luck’s never been on their side, but this crew of small-time crooks with super powers recruited by none other than Johnny Bolt are rolling the dice on one last heist. Their target: A ruthless super-powered crime boss. What can go wrong? Based on the graphic novel of the same name by comic book legend Mark Millar. All episodes will be available for streaming on Thursday.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (Premieres on Netflix November 23rd): The war for Eternia culminates in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION, an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe. All episodes will be available for streaming on Tuesday.
Schedule Notes:
Since it is a holiday week, there will be multiple shows with preemptions from Wednesday through Friday. Though Syfy’s Day of the Dead will still air a new episode on Friday. An encore run of the animated holiday special Scooby Doo, Where Are You Now? will air on The CW on Wednesday. And a holiday special of Wellington Paranormal will air on that network on Saturday. I had previously thought that Apple TV+’s Foundation would wrap up this week, but that one had it first season finale last Friday. It has been renewed for a second year.
