Why Was It Cancelled? By this show’s third season, the viewership had dropped some from its first year, but not by two much and it consistently placed in the Nielsen Streaming Rankings. It was expensive to produce, though, and Amazon is committed to the even more expensive The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power through its fifth season. The showrunner had previously indicated that he envisioned the series running for around eight seasons, which seemed like a stretch. For now, it will leave fans hanging, but perhaps they can rally and make some noise and convince Amazon to produce a final season or interest another venue in picking it up.
