Ratings Results of Interest

On Sunday, HBO’s The Nevers improved to a 0.09 rating with 570K total viewers. After seeing its same-day viewership drop off a few weeks back, it has been trending back up and the show likely also continues to see significant gains from delayed and digital viewing. A second season renewal stills seems doable for that one. Over on AMC, Fear the Walking Dead slipped a tick to a 0.25 rating with 988K total viewers. That show has already been renewed for a seventh season.

On Thursday, NBC’s Manifest aired a double-episode again and saw its numbers improve to a 0.52 rating with just under three million total viewers. I have finally seen some delayed viewing numbers for this show and they are not as high as last year (about a 90% audience gain in the demo), but perhaps enough to get it a fourth season renewal. Over on The CW, Legacies returned after a couple of weeks off and posted a 0.13 rating with 500K total viewers.  That show has already been renewed.

On Tuesday, The Flash aired its first new episode in three weeks and posted a 0.21 with 736K total viewers. Supergirl improved to a 0.14 rating and 617K total viewers with a better lead-in.  Both shows have already been renewed. On Monday, Debris held steady at a 0.37 rating with 2.5 million total viewers, but that show remains firmly On the Bubble.

Sci Fi TV News of Note

Coming as somewhat of a surprise, Netflix has cancelled its supernatural drama The Irregulars after one season. That show entered the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 and Number 2 for its premiere week and improved to Number 1 in its second week of release. No reason for the cancellation has been given yet . . . Series regulars Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes will both be departing The Flash by season end. Valdes will be with the show through the Season 7 finale while Cavanagh is expected to have his final appearance at some point prior to that. . . Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are developing the horror anthology series Unknown for Amazon.  According to The Wrap, the show “plunges into the corners of the American landscape, probing the intersection of folklore and our bloody history of true crime”. Status Updates of Interest

For the status updates on all of the currently airing shows plus those awaiting word on their fate, go to this link.

Jupiter’s Legacy (Netflix, Streaming 1st Season, Status – Renewal Possible): First season Netflix shows have typically have a decent chance of renewal but after the quick cancellation of the highly-watched The Irregulars, who knows now. Jupiter’s Legacy is part of Mark Miller’s high-profile development deal with the company, though, so this one might have a better than average chance of getting a second season.

Star Wars The Bad Batch (Disney+, Streaming 1st Season, Status – Renewal Possible): The first season of this series will consist of sixteen episodes. The animated Star Wars entries have been sticking around for about two to three seasons of late, so I would expect this one to have a run of at least that length, possibly longer.
