Digital Ratings: Supernatural Returns to the Charts, The Mandalorian Remains in the Top 5

The results for the Nielsen Streaming Rankings got behind over the holidays, but with two weeks’ worth of data released this week, we are now caught up. Supernatural re-entered the charts for the week of November 30th to December 6th when the fifteenth and final season became available on Netflix. It started at the Number 7 slot then improved to Number 6 for the week of December 7th to 13th. That show previously appeared on the charts for one week when the rankings were first released in Summer. The Mandalorian held steady for Disney+ the week of Nov 30 to Dec 6, then improved to Number 2 the following week. That show should remain on the charts a bit longer as its season finale was released on the week of December 14th. Hulu’s The Hardy Boys had its premiere on December 4th, but it did not make it into the Top 10.

The Nielsen Streaming Ratings rank the shows/movies on Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and Hulu based on the number of minutes watched during the week by U.S. viewers. The numbers are extrapolated based on the Nielsen sampling of families who have meters monitoring their viewing habits. Also, shows with more episodes available will tend to have a higher number of minutes watched. Following are the genre shows in the Top 10 for the week which includes the estimated minutes viewed (the prior week rank is in parenthesis).

Digital Ratings for the Week of Nov-30 to Dec-6

4 (4) The Mandalorian (Disney+) 994 Million, Weeks on Chart: 6
7 (n/a) Supernatural (Netflix) 694 Million, Weeks on Chart: 2

Digital Ratings for the Week of Dec-7 to Dec-13

2 (4) The Mandalorian (Disney+) 1 Billion, Weeks on Chart: 7
6 (7) Supernatural (Netflix) 694 Million, Weeks on Chart: 3
