Cancellation Watch Breaking News: Netflix’s Castlevania Will Return for a Fourth Season

Netflix announced on Twitter yesterday that its horror Anime series Castlevania will be returning for a fourth season. Following is the post that the streaming service put up (the short video has the announcement):

Not widely reported by the mainstream media yet, this certainly comes as a welcome announcement to fans of the much-loved series. Netflix has a tendency to end its originals around the third or fourth year mark, so don’t be surprised if the coming season is announced as its last at some point. But at least that will give the show the opportunity to wrap up its storylines. The fourth season will likely debut in early 2021.

Castlevania follows monster hunter Trevor Belmont who fights against Dracula and his supernatural army with the assistance of the magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula’s dhampir son Alucard. The voice cast includes Richard Armitage, James Callis, Graham McTavish, Alejandra Reynoso, Tony Amendola, and Matt Frewer and the series is based on the video games of the same name.

We are still waiting to hear word on other Netflix originals like The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, V-Wars, and even Black Mirror.
