Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
There is only one more sci fi TV premiere on the schedule for 2019, unless Netflix drops something on us without warning (as they are want to do). On Christmas Eve, Lost in Space has its second season debut on Netflix (see trailer below). All episodes will be available for streaming on that day. Also this week, on Thursday BBC America will air the animated restoration of the Patrick Troughton Doctor Who serial “The Macra Terror”. Wrapping up this week is HBO’s His Dark Materials which has its season finale on Monday (it has been renewed for a second season), and Disney+’s The Mandalorian which has its season finale on Friday (it has also been renewed for a second season). Apart from that, most of the Fall sci fi and fantasy shows are on hiatus or have wrapped up their seasons. So now is the time to get caught up on anything in your queue, because Mid-Season kicks off soon and will ramp up quickly. Schedule Notes: If a show is listed as On Hiatus, that means that it is taking a break of more than two episodes in a row. If a streaming series is included in the listings after its premiere date, then it releases new episodes once per week on that day as opposed to releasing its entire season at one time.
