Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
The first week of September is upon us and already some of the Fall season genre entries are hitting the schedule. On Wednesday, the television continuation of The Purge film franchise has its debut on USA and Syfy at 10 PM EST. Subsequent weeks will air only on USA until the season finale which will simulcast with Syfy again. On Friday, the second season’s of Netflix’s Marvel series Iron Fist has its debut. All thirteen episodes will be available for streaming that day. And on Sunday, The Last Ship returns to TNT’s schedule for its final voyage. That show will be wrapping up with its current season.
Leaving the schedule this week is CBS’s Salvation which will have its second season finale on Monday. [Correction: Salvation has its season finale September 17th.] Apart from that, the schedule is still somewhat light as most of the Summer shows have wrapped up. But the Fall entries will start hitting at a rapid pace over the next few weeks, so now is the time to catch up on any shows that you have gotten behind on.
