Description: Moonhaven focuses on Bella Sway (Emma McDonald), a lunar cargo pilot and smuggler 100 years in the future who finds herself accused of a crime and marooned on Moonhaven, a utopian community set on a 500 square mile Garden of Eden built on the Moon to find solutions to the problems that will soon end civilization on Mother Earth. Why Was It Cancelled? This show had been renewed for a second season, but that decision was reversed. AMC’s streaming arm AMC Networks announced that CEO Christina Spade would be stepping down and that the company would be going through extensive cost-cutting measures. As part of that, the second season of the previously renewed Moonhaven was axed as part of what is referred to as “strategic programming assessments”. The series had previously been touted as a big success for AMC’s streaming arm AMC+ as its first season became the most-watched exclusive original on the service. But that was not enough to keep the previously announced second season moving forward amidst shakeups at the network. There is no word at this point on whether Moonhaven will get shopped around, but that is a possibility seeing as it built up a notable audience for a streaming original. Fans should definitely take to the social networks with a Call to Action to save the series.
