Status: According to HBO boss Casey Bloys, the third season of this show will arrive in 2027, and that could be its last:
The series is definitely planned for 2027. Craig [Mazin] is still working it out whether it will be two more seasons or one more long season. It hasn’t been decided yet, and I’m following Craig’s lead on that.
Showrunner Craig Mazin had originally said that two more seasons were planned, but considering the expense of the show and the fact that the ratings slipped in its second year, it is possible that The Last of Us will wrap up after its third year.
