Status Updates
Invincible (Prime Video, Status: Renewed): This animated superhero entry improved one slot in the Nielsen Streaming Rankings to Number 8 in the second week of its fourth season, though its minutes of viewing dropped slightly to an estimated 474 million. It has already been renewed for a fifth season, though it may wrap up around that point.
Ark: The Animated Series (Paramount+, Status: Cancelled): This animated series, based on the video game Ark: Survival Evolved, has had a troubled history, and it appears that it may be done. Originally set for a 2022 release, that got delayed to 2024, and only the first half of the first season premiered in Spring of that year with almost no promotion. It is now two years later and the second half has still not come out (though allegedly it will arrive at some point in 2026), and it seems unlikely that we will be getting another season beyond that. If they have finished the main part of production, it is possible that the cast and crew have been released from their contracts, or likely will be soon. This show never developed much of a buzz, and it is likely that the remaining episodes will count as a burn-off run. I am moving it to cancelled status, but if this one has developed any sort of following, they should make some noise on the social media if they want it to continue.
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85:This spin-off series premiered last week and landed in the Netflix Top 10 with 13.8 million hours watched across 2.8 million households. Those are decent numbers, especially for an animated series, but not quite a breakout hit. But the streamer has already announced a renewal, and that is set to arrive in Fall 2026, so work must already be underway for that one. You can read more about the renewal at this link.

Note that the cancellation for Ark: The Animated Series counts back to the 2023-24 season.
