Sci Fi TV Premieres:
From (MGM+): The closer the residents of town get to the answers they seek, the more terrifying their search becomes. Who is the Man in Yellow, and what does he want? Will Jade and Tabitha’s revelation be the key to finally going home? How much longer can Boyd hold the town together, even as his body and mind are falling apart? And what role will the town’s most recent arrival play in the events to come? Premieres Sunday at 9 PM EST.
Hive (Tubi): When a strict, anxious teen loses the child she’s babysitting, she’s forced to confront a sinister presence hiding among playground children as her grip on reality slips. Original movie premieres on Friday.

Krapopolis returns from hiatus on Sunday to air its Season 3 finale at 8 PM EST. That show has been renewed through its fifth season. Sci Fi TV News of Note:
Star Trek: Year One–following the initial voyages of the U.S.S. Enterprise after Captain Kirk (Paul Wessley) takes the helm–is one of the shows currently under consideration for continuing the Trek franchise (more on that at this link), but the chances of that show moving forward just got a disappointing update. Trek Central put out a post on Twitter indicating that the sets from Strange New Worlds were being taken down and will be auctioned off. The Enterprise sets from that show would have been crucial to Year One, and with those coming down, the chances of that spin-off getting the greenlight are much lower now. It is possible they could build new sets, maybe changing the look and feel for the new series, but in the current cost-cutting environment, that seems unlikely. Paramount+ has not officially passed on the series yet, and you can cast your vote for it at this link.
CBS is looking to double down on supernatural comedy this coming Fall as they have picked up the pilot for Eternally Yours. It comes from Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman and Deadline gives the following description of the series:
Eternally Yours is a family comedy centered around Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards) — a vampire couple whose once-passionate romance has devolved into a pulseless marriage after 500 years together. Living in present-day Seattle with their oddball coven, they’ve settled into an eternal rut — until their daughter’s earnest human boyfriend unexpectedly enters their lives and forces them to confront whether their love can survive forever … or if forever is a life sentence.
It is unclear at this point if this one exists in the same universe as Ghosts and if the shows could have a potential crossover. It does look like it will get paired up with that popular series on the schedule to give it a boost, and Eternally Yours will be targeting a Fall premiere.
The beloved horror anthology series Tales from the Crypt (which originally aired on HBO) is finally coming to streaming. That series, which was inspired by the EC comic of the same name and co-created by comics legend William Gaines, premiered on HBO in 1989 and ran for seven seasons. For reasons probably relating to copyright issues, it has not previously made it to streaming (even on HBO Go/Now/MAX), but it will have its digital premiere May 1st on Shudder. The first season will be available that day, and additional seasons will roll out each week after that on Fridays. There are 93 total episodes of the series, and this should certainly be welcome news to horror fans. And hopefully, Tales from the Darkside will be the next horror anthology to finally hit streaming.
Disney+ has given a second season renewal to its animated series Marvel Zombies. That one was originally pegged as a limited series, but its story will continue beyond the first season.
In production news, work has begun at Amazon MGM Studios on a Robocop reboot series, and HBO has kicked off production of the second season of its Harry Potter reboot. You can read more about those at this link.
In casting news, Mike Mitchell will not be returning in the role of Stu–protege to the homicidal Sweet Tooth–in the upcoming third season of Peacock’s Twisted Metal, as the studio has decided to take the series “in a different direction”. Over at FX, Game of Thrones veteran Peter Dinklage will be joining Alien: Earth in its second season as a cast regular, though no details about the role are available at this point.
In scheduling news, the third season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece–which is currently in production and has a subtitle of The Battle of Alabasta—has been given a 2027 premiere window. And Apple TV’s sci fi series Dark Matter will be returning for its second season this Summer with a premiere date of August 28th.
