Sci Fi TV News

The actors’ strike has been resolved and several sci fi and fantasy shows have announced that they will be resuming production. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will get things rolling on its third season this month which could put it on track for a 2024 debut. Netflix’s The Sandman will also start production in November which means that its second season may premiere by late 2024. As for Netflix’s Wednesday, that one is eying a Spring start and will be shifting production from Romania to Ireland. Expect it to return at some point in 2025.

Two cancellations were announced this past week along with one renewal. Falling to the Network Executioner was Netflix’s fantasy series Shadow and Bone and animated comedy Farzar (more on both of those at this link). Getting the renewal nod was Max’s animated Harley Quinn which will be returning for a fifth season.

In scheduling news, CBS has announced February 15th as the premiere date for Season 3 of its supernatural comedy Ghosts.
