Netflix Has Renewed Love Death + Robots for a Fourth Season

The Netflix Red Queen has been busy lately with her “Off With Their Heads!” verdicts, but one show has been spared from her wrath.  The animated anthology series Love Death + Robots will be returning for a fourth season on the streamer.  That show is not one of Netflix’s most-watched originals with the third season only making it into the lower rungs of the Top 10 for English language shows for a couple of weeks in May of this year.  But it has received plenty of good buzz, and it won the Emmy for best short-form animated program for its first two seasons with another nomination for its third year.  It is also likely not an expensive series for Netflix and animated entries have tended to have longer runs on the streaming services.  The fourth season will likely premiere at some point in 2023.

Love Death + Robots is a sci fi anthology with short animated segments that somehow work in the three themes from the title.  It was created by David Fincher and Tim Miller and originally began as a sequel to the 1981 animated film Heavy Metal.

The 2021-22 season has just about ended, but there are still quite a number of shows waiting for word on their fate (more on that at this link) plus several Summer entries.
