Ratings Results of Interest
Last week’s ratings numbers were delayed due to the holiday, thus the reason this post is coming out on Wednesday. On Sunday, AMC’s The Walking Dead resumed its eleventh and final season and posted a 0.53 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 1.8 million total viewers. That is even with its Fall finale numbers, but far from the viewership totals of its heyday. Over on The CW, Two Sentence Horror Stories improved to a 0.05 rating with 246K total viewers for its Season 3 finale. That show is currently On the Bubble with new owners possibly moving in at the network.
On Wednesday, Syfy’s Resident Alien took a drop to a 0.11 rating with one million total viewers. That one continues to perform well for its network, though, and a third season still looks like a good bet. In the lead out hour, Astrid & Lilly Save the World ticked down to a 0.04 rating with 217K total viewers. That show continues to lose a large chunk of its lead-in audience and could be headed to cancellation unless fans make a Call to Action on the social networks to save it.
On Monday, TNT’s Snowpiercer slipped a bit to a 0.13 rating with 617K total viewers. That one has already been renewed for a fourth season. Over on The CW, 4400 wrapped up its first season on a low note with 0.04 score and 234K total viewers. With the possibility of an ownership change at that network, this show’s chances of returning for a second season continue to slip. The Olympics wrapped up last week, so shows like Superman & Lois, Legends of Tomorrow, and Ghosts will be returning with new episodes
