Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
This week, four of The CW’s genre entries return to the schedule after getting delayed from a Fall start due to the production shutdowns. On Wednesday, Riverdale and Nancy Drew have their season premieres (5th and 2nd respectively) in the same timeslots they aired last year. On Thursday, Legacies returns to the Thursday 9 PM EST hour for its Season 3 premiere. And on Sunday, Charmed makes the move to Sundays at 9 PM EST after Batwoman (it aired on Fridays last year). Despite the delayed start for these shows, they are still set to have close to full-season episode orders (probably 18 to 20 eps for each) and the network will run fewer repeats through the rest of the season. Black Lightning, The Flash, and Superman & Lois are set to hit the schedule in the coming weeks as are more sci fi and fantasy shows. And a late addition to this week’s listings is Fate: The Winx Saga which premieres on Netflix on Friday with all episodes available for viewing. Schedule Notes: If a show is listed as On Hiatus, that means that it is taking a break of more than two episodes in a row. If a streaming series is included in the listings after its premiere date, then it releases new episodes once per week on that day as opposed to releasing its entire season at one time.
