Digital Ratings: Away Improves, The Boys and Lucifer Remain in the Top 10

Netflix’s mission-to-Mars series Away was the highest ranked sci fi/fantasy entry in the Top 10 of the Nielsen Streaming Ratings for the week of September 7th to 13th. That series entered the charts at Number 7 the prior week when it debuted on Netflix, and improved to Number 2 in its second week. Just below that at Number 3 (slipping from Number 2) is Lucifer which is currently streaming its fifth season on Netflix. And next up is Amazon’s The Boys at Number 4 (down from Number 3) after a strong debut the prior week for its second season. Slipping out of the Top 10 for the week was Netflix’s encore run of Legend of Korra.

The Nielsen Streaming Ratings rank the shows/movies on Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and Hulu based on the number of minutes watched during the week by U.S. viewers. The numbers are extrapolated based on the Nielsen sampling of families who have meters monitoring their viewing habits. Following are the genre shows in the Top 10 for the Week of Sep 7-13 which includes the estimated minutes viewed (the prior week rank is in parenthesis).

2 (7) Away (Netflix), 1.4 billion minutes
3 (2) Lucifer (Netflix), 1.1 billion
4 (3) The Boys (Amazon), 1.1 billion

Dropping out from last week:

n/a (9) The Legend of Korra (Netflix)
