Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
The Fall season really starts ramping up this week with three premieres and the return of one show that did not get the chance to complete its season last Spring due to the shutdowns. On Thursday, Hulu’s new horror anthology Monsterland has its debut. All episodes will be available for streaming that day. Then on Sunday, The CW’s sci fi series Pandora returns for its second season. That one was shifted from Summer due to the production shutdowns.
At 9 PM EST on AMC on Sunday, the Season 10 “finale” of The Walking Dead will finally air after over a five-month delay. That is no longer the finale for the show’s tenth season, though, more of a transitionary episode at this point. Six more eps have been ordered for the current season which will premiere in early 2021. And that will lead into the eleventh and final season which will likely debut in Fall 2021. Also on Sunday, spin-off series The Walking Dead: World Beyond has its debut at 10 PM EST.
Also this week, we will be saying goodbye to a long-time genre mainstay on the Prime Time schedule. The CW’s post-apocalyptic sci fi series The 100 will be wrapping up after seven seasons, appropriately enough with its 100th episode. That one has never been a highly rated show, and it went through some controversy after killing off one of its main characters. But it has had a notable run and will take its final bow on Wednesday. Schedule Notes: If a show is listed as On Hiatus, that means that it is taking a break of more than two episodes in a row. If a streaming series is included in the listings after its premiere date, then it releases new episodes once per week on that day as opposed to releasing its entire season at one time.
