The third edition of the Nielsen Streaming Ratings Top 10 (which covers the week of August 17th to 23rd) finds Lucifer in the top spot. That show had its fifth season debut on August 21st and it bumped The Umbrella Academy out of the Number 1 slot. That superhero had topped the list in its first two weeks. In the Number 2 slot is The Legend of Korra which began its encore run on Netflix in August. The superhero film Project Power remained in the Top 10 for a second week, but it slipped to the Number 7 slot.
The Nielsen Streaming Ratings ranks the shows/movies on Netflix and Amazon based on the number of minutes watched during the week by U.S. viewers. The numbers are extrapolated based on the Nielsen sampling of families who have meters monitoring their viewing habits. Following are the genre shows in the Top 10 for the Week of Aug 17-23 which includes the estimated minutes viewed (the prior week rank is in parenthesis).
1 (n/a) Lucifer, 1.59 billion minutes
2 (8) The Legend of Korra, 1.25 billion
3 (1) The Umbrella Academy, 1.09 billion
7 (4) Project Power, 761 million
