Series Profile: Stargirl Teams Up with the Justice Society of America

What Is It?

Stargirl is a new superhero series based on the DC comic character of the same name that will be streaming on the DC Universe digital platform. Following is the official description of the series:

DC’s Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines DC’s Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.

Premiere

The series will premiere on May 18, 2020 on the DC Universe streaming service and will release one episode a week. Episodes will air on The CW on Tuesdays the day after their streaming premiere at 9 PM EST.

Status

This show has picked up a lot of good buzz early on and should be positioned well for a second season renewal as long as the viewership numbers are decent. And if the DC Universe streaming service shuts down as some theorize, Stargirl could shift to The CW or HBO Max..
