What Is It?

The Witcher is new epic fantasy series from Netflix, based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. Following is the official tagline for the show:

The witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

Premiere

The series will premiere on the Netflix streaming service on December 20, 2019 with all eight episodes available that day.

Status

This is a high profile series for Netflix and another attempt to capture the Game of Thrones audience, and it has already been renewed for a second season. But the streamer usually caps off its shows around the three-season mark these days, even though showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has said it could run for 20 years.
