Cancellation Watch Breaking News: Netflix Renews The Rain for a Third and Final Season

Netflix has announced the renewal of its Danish, post-apocalyptic drama The Rain for a third season on Twitter, and that will be its last. No viewership numbers are available for the show, but it currently holds an 82% Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes with and Audience Score of 61%. A three season run has become the expected duration of a show on Netflix these days, though first year series Chambers was just cancelled by the streamer. The Rain, which began last year, is produced in Denmark and is available in the U.S. with English subtitles. The second season debuted on Netflix last month with the third likely arriving in 2020

The Rain takes place after a deadly rain has spread a virus throughout Scandinavia and wiped out most of the human population. Six years later, the few survivors must struggle with a harsh world and themselves to stay alive. It stars Alba August, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Mikkel Følsgaard, and Lukas Løkken.

The announcements keep rolling in as the networks are apparently cleaning up the accounting with their schedules. Be sure to stay tuned to this site for breaking news and updates.
