Description: This is a horror anthology series that focuses on a different historical setting each season.

Season 1: Inspired by a true story, The Terror centers on the British Royal Navy’s perilous voyage into unchartered territory as the crew attempts to discover the Northwest Passage. Faced with treacherous conditions, limited resources, dwindling hope and fear of the unknown, the crew is pushed to the brink of extinction.

Season 2: Set during World War II, the second season of The Terror centers on a series of bizarre deaths that haunt a Japanese-American community, and a young man’s journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity responsible.

Why Did It End? After proving to be a hit for AMC in its first season, this show’s ratings dropped notably in its second year. Network execs were previously listening to pitches for a third season, but there has been no word on the show’s fate for over a year, so I am counting it as ended as of the 2019-20 season. Since the show reboots itself each year, there is a chance it could return at some point, and perhaps a Call to Action from fans could sway the network execs.
