Description: This is a season-long horror anthology series that focuses on a different historical setting each season.
Season 1: Inspired by a true story, The Terror centers on the British Royal Navy’s perilous voyage into unchartered territory as the crew attempts to discover the Northwest Passage. Faced with treacherous conditions, limited resources, dwindling hope and fear of the unknown, the crew is pushed to the brink of extinction.
Season 2: Set during World War II, the second season of The Terror centers on a series of bizarre deaths that haunt a Japanese-American community, and a young man’s journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity responsible.
Season 3: Pepper is a working-class moving man who, through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital – an institution filled with those society would rather forget. There, he must contend with patients working against him, doctors harboring grim secrets, and perhaps even the Devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face the entity which thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls – but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.

Status: This series received a promising update from its executive producer who has claimed that a fourth season is in the works. According to David W. Zucker, they have closed the deal on the next book that they will adapt, and work is beginning on that (though the title of the book has not been announced). This is not an official renewal, but it certainly suggests that the show will be back for another year, and the wait will be much shorter than the one for the third season.
