Description: The continuing adventures of the Gallifreyan Time Lord known as the Doctor who from time to time regenerates into a new incarnation. He travels through time and space in his TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space) with various, ever-changing companions and battles with threats to the universe.

Status: Disney’s deal with the BBC on Doctor Who has come to an end. The Mouse House jumped onboard with that show for the first season starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, with plans to franchise it similar to what they have done with the MCU and Star Wars. That was also at a time when the streamers were booming and before the post-Peak TV cuts started to take their toll. Viewership for the show dropped off during Gatwa’s two seasons, and it never made it into the Nielsen Streaming Rankings for its run on Disney+. The partnership also produced the mini-series The War on the Land and the Sea, and that will premiere early in 2026. But after that, Disney is out, though the BBC has not given up on the character yet. They have plans to continue the show and may look for another partner to help with funding the production.  With all of these behind-the-scenes changes, it may be a while before the show returns and resolves the rather large cliffhanger it ended on.
