On Sunday, HBO’s Lovecraft Country held steady at a 0.18 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 737K total viewers. That show will certainly see notable gains from digital and delayed viewing along with encore runs and appears to be on track for a second season renewal.

On Wednesday, The 100 held at a 0.2 rating with 632K total viewers as the countdown to that show’s series finale continues. On Tuesday, Dead Pixels held at a 0.1 rating with 357K total viewers. That show has already been renewed for a second season in Britain.

In the Nielsen Streaming Top 10, Lucifer took the Number 1 spot for its fifth season premiere in the week of August 17th to 23rd. The Umbrella Academy slipped to Number 3 after two weeks at Number 1. You can see the full rundown of the streaming ratings at this link.

Renewal and Cancellation Announcements

As expected, HBO Max had been generous in handing out renewals to its originals early in its tenure. The sci fi series Raised by Wolves, which premiered earlier this month, has been renewed for a second season. And the animated Harley Quinn, which has moved over from DC Universe, has been renewed for a third season. HBO Max also announced a third season renewal of Doom Parol–another DCU import–earlier in the week. On the cancellation side, Netflix’s fantasy series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will not be returning for a second season on that streaming service. Executive producer Lisa Henson has indicated they will look at continuing the story in another format.

Status Updates of Interest

For the status updates on all of the currently airing shows plus those awaiting word on their fate, go to this link.

Dragon’s Dogma (Netflix, Streaming, Status – Renewal Possible): As with any Netflix original series, this show has a decent chance of sticking around for a second season. And animated entries from this streamer have a chance of surviving past the four-season wall, so this one could stick around for a while if it proves popular.

Amazing Stories (Apple TV+, Season Ended, Status – Renewal Possible): So far, Apple TV+ has renewed most of its original series, so it is surprising that there has been no word on this one yet. But I still consider it to have a decent chance of coming back for a second season.
