Sci Fi TV Listings for the Week of December 3rd: Arrow-verse Elseworlds Cross-over Begins, Counterpart Season 2 Premiere

Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.

This week kicks off the Arrow-verse “Elseworlds” cross-over (which will introduce Batwoman) and it begins with The Flash as it does a one-time with Supergirl to Sunday night.  The story will continue on Monday with Arrow and conclude on Tuesday with Supergirl (Legends of Tomorrow will not be part of the cross-over this year).  Following is the official synopsis for Sunday’s episode of The Flash:

When Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (guest star Stephen Amell) wake up one morning and realize they have swapped bodies with each other, the two set off to find out what disturbed the timeline to cause such a shift. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when they present their case to Team Flash and the gang doesn’t believe them. Barry and Oliver realize they need Supergirl’s (guest star Melissa Benoist) help and travel to Smallville on Earth-38 where they end up meeting Kara’s cousin, Clark Kent (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), and intrepid reporter, Lois Lane (guest star Elizabeth Tulloch).

Also this week, Starz’s alternate universe series Counterpart returns for its second season on Sunday following Outlander. Syfy’s Nightflyers continues nightly through Thursday this week then picks up again on Sunday. That one is also available for streaming on Syfy.com. Wrapping up for the Fall this week is FOX’s The Gifted and NBC’s The Good Place. The former resumes its season on January 1st and the latter should be back in January as well. Already on hiatus are NBC’s Manifest and AMC’s The Walking Dead.
