The Warehouse’s caretaker Artie (Saul Rubinek) charges Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping him to control the warehouse, itself. Why Did It End? Once the flagship series of the Syfy channel, the ratings for Warehouse 13 had dropped significantly by its fourth season. So the network ordered a short, six episode fifth season as the show’s last which essentially acted as a preemptive cancellation. But that move at least gave the show the opportunity to wrap up its storylines, so fans did not make too much of a fuss. And the fifth season saw the ratings drop to their lowest numbers yet, so apparently interest in the show had had tapered off by that point.

  1. The first 20 episodes were really well done. The sci-fi/fantasy stories made sense within the canon of Warehouse. For me, up to that point the only annoying part of the writing was the everyone talking at once meme that happened in almost every episode. It was much like telling the same joke over and over. Once was cute. Twice was pushing the limit. Beyond twice was amateurish. Then we got to the middle of the 2nd series and the show started flying off the rails. Everyone is killed but no one dies. This had the same effect as the dozen times told joke meme. Stories stopped following canon: every artifact has an evil downside. Then Mrs. Frederic takes Claudia into the field to show her how new artifacts are created. When one is created in front of them Claudia asks if they are going to grab and bag it. Answer from Mrs. Frederick? No. Not unless or until it causes a problem. Not another word is ever said about that. Either artifacts are the ultimate evil or they aren’t. Apparently it depended on whether the story was cute or ominous. Stories became, after mid series 2, increasingly absurd. The ratings likewise became laughably absurd as they plummeted from #1 on to it’s Voyage to the Bottom of the Ratings. The populace spoke and the words were not kind. The show was even granted a farewell tour of a 6 episode 5th series. Everyone was invited to say good bye – nobody came.

The problem wasn’t the actors. It was writer/creators Jane Espenson and Brent Mote who drove the bus off the cliff.

  2. This was a refreshing show with a lot of information along the way. It was campy and fun. I would love to see it revived but nobody ever listens to the populace unless it means big bucks.

  3. Aww yeah, I’m rewatching the series now (I watched it in high school and stopped when I got to college). Kind of wish they’d give us another random season just for the heck of it, lol.

  4. Warehouse 13 is an amazing show, we’ve only recently discovered it and we wish they’d start up again for maybe 1 season or something. Would definitely support the show coming back.

  5. The show had a good run but it was pretty repetitive. I’m just glad it got a legit finale rather than just not getting renewed like a lot of shows.

  6. It was a great show, amazing cast and should have continued. Glad i have it digitally and I still enjoy the fun.
Stupid changes like this is why I quit SyFy.

  7. I really enjoyed this show and I’m sad that it needed. I just got my boyfriend into the show and he enjoys it. I have so many questions on the artifacts and would love to know what they all do and where they came from. Really wished the show never ended. Claudia is still my all time favorite person.

      1. Still can NOT shake Brent Spiner, no matter where he goes or what character he plays, he’s still Data. Still remember his nick name given by Commander Ryker in the 1st episode as ‘Pinocchio’, the dream of becoming human. Devastated when it ended. Picard series, in order to watch, gotta subscribe to Paramount. Got too many tv/movie apps already subscribed to, not really interested in paying for yet another. They can keep it, I’ll stick with the good Ole memories.
