Description: Shining Vale is a horror comedy about a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. Why Was It Cancelled? This supernatural comedy did not receive much promotion from Starz and never developed much of an audience.  Its first season averaged only a 0.02 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic, and that slipped to 0.01 for the second year. The premium cable channels do not pay as much attention to the same-day ratings because they are not beholden to advertisers, but those still act as a leading indicator that the show was not drawing much viewership.  Starz decided not to keep the series going and to remove it from streaming, likely taking a write-down for tax purposes. Series creator Jeff Astrof has indicated that work has begun on a third season and that the show will be shopped  Fans should definitely make some noise on the social networks to help this one find a new home.
