The sci fi parody Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will continue at HBO Max as that streamer has given that Big Bang Theory spin-off a second season renewal. We have not seen the Nielsen numbers for the show yet, but according to Luminate, it pulled in 3.1 million views for its premiere episode in the first six days. That makes it the fourth most-watched season premiere for an HBO Max original behind The Pitt Season 2, And Just Like That… Season 2, and Peacemaker Season 2. The Sliders-like comedy has released four episodes so far out of ten planned for the first season, and it is the third spin-off from The Big Bang Theory, but this is the only one that is a true sci fi entry. Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, had the following to say about the show:

The second season will likely arrive around mid-2027.
This renewal counts back to the 2025-26 season and brings the Cancellation/Renewal Score to 36 renewed sci fi and fantasy entries (51% of shows tracked) vs. 15 cancelled and ending (21%) with 20 still waiting for word on their fates. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe follows comic book shop owner Stuart who, along with previous Big Bang Theory characters Denise Jeffries, Bert Kibbler, and Barry Kripke, travel from one alternate universe to the next manifested by an experiment by Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter and Howard Wolowitz that went awry, using a device created by those three. It stars Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie, and so far familiar Big Bang Theory faces such as Kunal Nayyar, Kaley Cuoco, Melissa Rauch, Mayim Bialik, and Wil Wheaton have made appearances.
