What Is It?
This series follows elite interplanetary bounty hunters Dutch, John Jaqobis, and D’avin Jaqobis as they track dangerous fugitives across the Quad, a planetary system on the brink of political collapse and civil war. Bound by an oath to remain neutral, the trio soon find themselves drawn into a much larger conflict involving ancient conspiracies, powerful families, and a mysterious force threatening the future of the entire system.

Why Watch It?
While Killjoys never became one of Syfy’s biggest ratings hits, it quietly built a devoted following during its five-season run. The series benefited from the excellent chemistry among its three leads Hannah John-Kamen, Aaron Ashmore, and Luke Macfarlane as well as balanced storylines with plenty of humor and camaraderie along with a more serious nature. Rather than trying to become the next Battlestar: Galactica or The Expanse, Killjoys embraced its identity as an energetic, fun-loving adventure series with memorable characters and plenty of action.
Another strength of the show was that it was allowed to complete its planned story. Syfy renewed the series for both its fourth and fifth seasons together, giving creator Michelle Lovretta the opportunity to wrap things up with a satisfying conclusion rather than leaving viewers on a cliffhanger. That has become increasingly rare in modern science fiction television and makes Killjoys an easy series to recommend to viewers looking for a complete story. If you somehow missed this one during its original run, now is the perfect opportunity to give it a look

As of August 1st, all five seasons of Killjoys are available to stream free (with ads) on Tubi as part of the service’s growing lineup of genre television. That service also has quite a number of other sci fi and fantasy TV shows that are worth checking out as well. Killjoys has also been released on Blu-ray and DVD, and you can purchase it VOD.
