SurrealEstate Cancelled by Syfy and will not continue to Season 4

SurrealEstate Will Not Continue to a Fourth Season According to Series Co-Star

It appears that the fan-favorite Supernatural dramedy SurrealEstate has been cancelled by Syfy a second time and will not be continuing to a fourth season. In some news that slipped through the cracks during the holiday season, series co-star Elena Juatco (who came onboard as Lomax in the second season) has put out an Instagram post announcing the demise of the show:

So … it’s official … #Surrealestate will not be returning for a fourth season on SYFY. Thank you to all of you who have watched and supported this show. Thank you to the numerous guest stars and actors who joined us in the show’s 3-season run to share their talent and their hearts, and thank you to our crews in St. John’s and Ottawa who brought this show to life. This is my third television series to be cancelled and while the feeling definitely still sucks, the gratitude I feel to have been on a series at all has deepened.

I was four months pregnant when I booked this show (after months of hearing nothing and letting it go). I filmed right into my third trimester, and the show gave me the 18-month maternity leave I needed before returning to Ottawa to film Season 3 with my full family in tow. Ottawa was home to us for 2 1/2 wonderful months, and I worked with some of the best people. We are so sad to not return.

Thank you to SyFy, Blue Ice, and of course: George Olson, our showrunner and creator, for giving me the incredible gift of Lomax. Oh how I will miss her. Thank you to my stunning cast: Rozon, Sarah, Mo, Savannah, Adam – I will miss our time together hunting ghosts and selling houses.

Onwards we go ❤️

The show has delivered mediocre at best ratings for Syfy throughout its run, and its third season averaged only a 0.02 rating (two one-hundredths of a ratings point) based on same-day viewing for the 18-48 demographic. It has not helped that the network has done very little to promote the show, though it has still managed to develop a small but loyal following. I had it On the Bubble throughout much of its third season, and I will be moving it to cancelled at this point.  The third season did wrap up many of the show’s storylines, but the finale certainly seemed to suggest a continuation into a fourth year.

Take note, though, that Syfy has not issued an official cancellation announcement (nor has the major entertainment media reported on this), and they did cancel it after its first season only to reverse that decision and bring it back for two more years. Fans should definitely stage a Call to Action to save the show as it is not expensive to produce and another venue might have an interest in picking it up. All three seasons are currently streaming on Hulu, and watch parties could boost its viewership there with that streamer perhaps having an interest in continuing it for another season or so.

The only remaining scripted shows on Syfy’s schedule are the supernatural drama Revival and the sci fi entry The Ark.  The former is still waiting for word on its fate (and I currently have it On the Bubble), and the latter will return for its third season at some point in 2026.

SurrealEstate counts back to the 2024-25 season and it brings the Cancellation/Renewal Score to 22 cancelled and ending sci fi and fantasy entries (33% of shows tracked) vs. 35 renewed (53%). You can see the breakdown of the numbers and the full list of shows for the current and prior seasons on our Cancellation Watch Page.

SurrealEstate follows the Roman real estate agency that focuses on haunted or possessed houses in order to clear out their supernatural tenants before new buyers take up residence. It stars Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, Savannah Basley, and Elena Juatco.

We are into 2026, and there are still several shows from the prior year awaiting word on their fates as well as quite a number from the 2025-26 season. Be sure to stay tuned to CancelledSciFi.com and our social media sites for updates and breaking news.

  1. This is such a good show and I’ve watched the episodes twice now and I don’t know why it’s canceled. It’s an unusual twist on some things. Every time I fall in love with a show it seems like they get canceled. I hope this gets shopped somewhere else to be continued.
