In news that we already knew, MGM+ has renewed its sci fi/horror series From for a third season. Production Weekly had listed the show as in production for its third year at the beginning of May, and that tends to be a very reliable source. But as we have seen, networks can reverse course on renewal decisions, so this announcement–which comes shortly after the Season 2 finale aired–makes it official. Nielsen does not report the ratings for MGM+, but the network has claimed that From is its second most-watched show. It has also scored well with critics and viewers, currently holding a 93% Fresh rating and 85% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. The third season will certainly be impacted by the writers’ strike and will likely not premiere until mid-2024.
I had already moved this show to renewal status, so the announcement does not impact the current Cancellation/Renewal Score. For the 2022-23 season, that stands at 38 renewed sci fi and fantasy shows (43% of shows) tracked vs. 36 cancelled and ending (40%). You can see the full list of shows at our Cancellation Watch Page.
From focuses on a nightmarish town in middle America that traps everyone who enters. Once there, they try to find a way out while struggling to survive against the threat of monsters from the surrounding forest who come out at night. It stars Harold Perrineau, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, David Alpay, and Elizabeth Saunders.

I would hope so given the cliffhanger at the end of season 2. I am fearful though that this is another Lost with a make-it-up as you go storyline. I almost gave up on this season as it just seemed to tread water and answer absolutely nothing while throwing a bunch more unexplained stuff at the audience. Lets see how season 3 goes…
