Digital Ratings: Cabinet of Curiosities and The Midnight Club May Only Get One Season, Warrior Nun Enters Netflix Top 10, and More

Digital Ratings: Viewership results for the sci fi and fantasy shows on the streaming services. See our Cancellation Watch posts for the linear ratings from the broadcast networks and cable shows.

Netflix Top 10:

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities slipped to Number 10 in the Netflix rankings for English Language shows for the week of November 7th to 13th. It had 18.2 million hours of viewing for its third week and likely will drop out of the charts next week. Netflix tends to prefer that its shows sustain their audience longer and has recently cancelled shows that dropped out after a few weeks such as The Imperfects. Manifest Season 4 slipped to the Number 2 slot in its second week, but viewership did improve to 74.8 million hours. That show is in its final season.  Season 2 of Warrior Nun (Renewal Possible) premiered that week and landed at the Number 6 slot with 26.2 million hours viewed. Following are all the sci fi and fantasy TV shows on the Netflix charts for the week (the number in parenthesis is the prior week rank):

Netflix Top 10 for the Week of Nov-7 to Nov-13

Nielsen Streaming Top 10

Netflix’s The Midnight Club slipped to Number 8 in the Nielsen Streaming Rankings for original series for the week of October 17th to 23rd. That was its third week and viewership dropped to 418 minutes. That one spent only three weeks in the Netflix Top 10, and like Cabinet of Curiosities (see above), may not have pulled in strong enough viewership by that streamer’s standards to justify a second season. Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (Renewed) dropped to Number 5 with 570 million minutes watched the week after it wrapped up its first season. Disney+’s Andor (Renewed) slipped to Number 9 with 418 million minutes while Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale (Renewed) slipped to Number 10 with 398 minutes. Amazon’s The Peripheral (Renewal Possible) premiered that week but did not make it into the Top 10 yet. Netflix’s Anime series Exception (On the Bubble) had its premiere the prior week and has not shown up in the rankings yet which is not a good sign. In the Top 10 for acquired shows, House of the Dragon (Renewed) remained at Number 1 and increased viewership to one billion minutes for the week of its season finale. Following are all the sci fi and fantasy TV shows on the streaming charts for the week (the number in parenthesis is the prior week rank):

Nielsen Streaming Rankings for the Week of Oct-10 to Oct-16

Streaming Originals
