Nielsen Streaming Top 10

Netflix’s sci fi/horror series The Imperfects entered the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for originals for the week of September 5th to 11th. That was its premiere week and it landed at the Number 6 slot with an estimated 465 million minutes of viewing. Based on how quickly that one slipped out of the Netflix charts, it may not be Nielsen chart for long and its chances for a second season are uncertain at this point. Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was knocked out of the number 1 slot by Cobra Kai, slipping to Number 3. But it still had 1.2 billion minutes of viewing as it continues to perform quite strongly. Stranger Things and She-Hulk remained in the chart with the former slipping to Number 4 and the latter improving to Number 5. The Sandman slipped to Number 10 and could be on its way out of the charts as it still waits for word on a second season renewal (more on that in our latest Cancellation Watch post).

In the Top 10 for acquired shows, House of the Dragon took the Number 1 slot for the first time and it reached one billion minutes of viewing for the week. Game of Thrones was in the Number 2 slot with 850 million minutes of viewing. Following are all the sci fi and fantasy TV shows on the streaming charts for the week (the number in parenthesis is the prior week rank):

Netflix Top 10:

Stranger Things Season 4 returned to the Netflix charts for the week of September 26th to October 2nd. It placed at the Number 8 slot and had ten million hours of viewing that week. Fate: The Winx Saga Seasons 1 and 2 remained in the charts and I like that one’s chances of getting a third season renewal. In the Non-English Language charts, Alchemy of Souls returned after one week out, placing at Number 8 with eleven million hours viewed. Cyberpunk: Edgerunner held at Number 7 with eleven million hours as well. Following are all the sci fi and fantasy TV shows on the Netflix charts for the week (the number in parenthesis is the prior week rank):
