Sci Fi TV Listings for the Week of January 24th: Premieres for Snowpiercer Season 3, Resident Alien Season 2, and More

Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.

Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week

Snowpiercer (Season 3 Premieres on TNT January 24th): Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Premieres Monday at 9 PM EST.

Resident Alien (Season 2 Premieres January 26th on Syfy): Harry and the Patience gang are back in this official trailer for Season 2 of SYFY’s Resident Alien. We can finally get some answers to those burning questions from Season 1 like what did Harry do with his stowaway Max? Will Asta be able to repair her relationship with her estranged daughter Jay? What new characters might we meet? Premieres Wednesday at 9 PM EST.

Astrid & Lilly Save the World (Premieres January 26th on Syfy): High school is hard enough when you’re different, but when outcast BFFs Astrid and Lilly accidentally crack open a portal to a terrifyingly quirky monster dimension, it gets a lot more complicated. It’s up to them to vanquish the creepy creatures and save the world, becoming the badass heroes they were meant to be. That is, if they can survive the horrors of high school. Premieres Wednesday at 10 PM EST.

Schedule Notes:

Both Resident Alien and Astrid & Lilly Save the World will be simulcast on USA at the same times they air on Syfy.  The CW’s Legacies was previously set to return from hiatus this Thursday, but that has now been pushed to February 24th.  In new schedule announcements, Netflix’s animated fantasy Disenchantment will be returning on February 9th with Part 4 and Amazon’s cyber-comedy Upload will return for its second season on March 11th.  There are more sci fi TV shows on the way this Mid-Season and you can see the full schedule at this link.
