Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
The Fall season kicks off this week, and the streaming services have three premieres to get things rolling. On Thursday, the new sci fi series from Ridley Scott Raised by Wolves premieres on HBO Max with its first episode available for streaming. That one will release one episode per week. On Friday, Amazon’s superhero romp The Boys returns for its second season with the first three episodes available for streaming that day. As a change-up from its first season, the remainder of the episodes will release one per week. Also on Friday, Netflix’s Mission-to-Mars series Away will have its premiere. All episodes will be available for viewing that day. As for broadcast and cable, only two genre entries will air new episodes this week: The CW’s Dead Pixels and HBO’s Lovecraft Country. That may be the least amount of new sci fi/fantasy (and the former barely counts as that) for a week on the linear networks in over ten years. The CW’s The 100 will resume new episodes next week as it is down to its final four installments. Schedule Notes: If a show is listed as On Hiatus, that means that it is taking a break of more than two episodes in a row. If a streaming series is included in the listings after its premiere date, then it releases new episodes once per week on that day as opposed to releasing its entire season at one time.
