Sci Fi TV Development: Grant Morrison’s Happy! The Book of Strange New Things and More




News, updates, and (mostly viable) rumors relating to development of science fiction / fantasy television productions. If you have tips or more info on these or other productions, please pass them along in the comments.

The Fall season is just now kicking off with over forty sci fi & fantasy shows returning or premiering between September and December (and you can get the rundown on that at this link). And development continues to move forward at full speed with five pilot announcements over the past week or so which includes FOX’s order of the previously announced Black Lightning pilot. Here is the info on the other four in the works.

About: Based on the graphic novel by Grant Morrison and Bryan Taylor, this series “follows Nick Sax – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man — who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. Comments: This is one of three shows that Syfy has ordered to pilot and will be considered for their 2017 schedule.

The Machine

Status: Pilot Ordered

Comments: Based on the 2013 movie of the same name, this is one of three shows that Syfy has ordered to pilot and will be considered for their 2017 schedule.

Haunted

Network: Syfy

Status: Pilot Ordered

About: Based on the Michael Faber book, this story follows “Peter (Madden), a priest, who is sent into space to help found a new colony but what he ends up discovering not only puts his faith to the test but life as we know it.” Source: Deadline Hollywood

Comments: This will star Game of Thrones alum Richard Madden and Amazon will make this available for viewers to vote on at some point in 2017.
