Sci Fi TV Development: Amazon’s Galaxy Quest Revival Put on Hold, Plus a Reboot of Misfits, a Cloak and Dagger Series and More

Galaxy-Quest-Alan-RickmanNews has been slow of late, but Freeform (formerly ABC Family) just announced three projects in development and a few more trickled though over the last few weeks as well. And one important update: that previously announced revival of Galaxy Quest by Amazon was actually going to be a sequel with all or most of the original cast, but after the death of Alan Rickman it has been put on hold.

Misfits

Network: Freeform

Lore

The Boys

Pennyworth

Status: Very Early Development

About: According to io9.com: “DC Entertainment has registered a trademark for the name Pennyworth, for a ‘production of live-action, dramatic comedy television series.'”

Comments: Speculation is that this could be a spin-off of FOX’s Gotham, but not much else is know about the project at the moment.
