  1. Stargate & Dark Matter showrunner Joe Mallozzi recently pitched Netflix for a 6-episode revival miniseries condensing Season 4 (with a hook for a second miniseries condensing Season 5), but it hasn’t been successful yet. The pitch is in parts on his daily blog and the Dark Matter subreddit. Here’s a link to the first part and you can look for the others: https://josephmallozzi.com/2021/09/14/dark-matter-miniseries-pitch-the-intro/

You can request Dark Matter Seasons 4 and 5 at the Netflix title request form. You can ask for full 13-episode seasons, specifically. Joe has confirmed that it wouldn’t screw things up if Netflix asked him for more than 6-episode miniseries; he’d just go back to his original plans: https://help.netflix.com/en/titlerequest
    .

  2. I just watched all 3 seasons of Dark Matter. This was a really good space-sci-fi series, right up there in between Firefly, and The Expanse.
I still can’t believe the stoopids’ that let this show end on a shocking cliffhanger in space. -literally !
They could’ve and should’ve let in end gracefully with a 10 episode 4th season, or at the very leasy, a decent finale ending, …
It’s the SyFy Channel that should be cancelled.

  3. I am so sad this show is cancelled! Please give us a finale!
I should just quit watching The SyFy Channel.

  4. Will there be a season three of Dark Matter is what I would like to know. I find the back stories of the characters and the dilemma of their pasts compelling and the humor makes it even more enjoyable. And Android really needs a “personal designation”. Good show

  5. I have been watching the SyFy channel since it began and Dark Matter is only one of maybe two shows that have
me watching with anticipation of more . Great characters, realistic special effects, and story lines that make
sense. I have not seen all the shows and some may not have been that great but this last season to me was the best. Please bring it back and make a major movie out of it as well! As a UFO witness seeing technology that matches some of the scifi I have seen and some that goes way beyond anything you can imagine > Dark Matter
currently satisfies my beyond belief technology appetite . I will buy the DVD’s when available.

  6. If you want to be a part of trying to give Dark Matter a future on Netflix, join our campaign on Twitter September 8 2017 US 9 PM EST. Follow @DarkMatterFTL for further instructions. The Raza crew will be there too of course!

  7. Canceled???

What a shame! This was one of the few shows on TV that I actually looked forward to seeing each week.

I adored the characters, the stories were complex and interesting, the writing and nature-vs.-nurture themes were top-notch and smart.

Is there anything we can do to rescue Dark Matter?

  8. I am watching Season 1 on Netflix and can’t agree with those who say the acting is great. I’d say 50/50. Three of the actors are very good (Two, Four and Six) and three are surprisingly poor, wooden and amateurish with no charisma (One, Three, and most especially Five, who singlehandedly cheapens the show with high school level acting). This is what keeps the show from being excellent for me. I would fire the casting agent.

  9. What makes Dark Matter special and deserving of another season? Bedsides having great production values, interesting story lines, and top-notch acting, Dark Matter has that one thing that so many comparable shows often fail to achieve: Heart and characters we care about – flawed characters who struggle to become better human beings in a vast void of dark matters.
The double entendre in the title is obvious. Behind everything in the universe is dark matter and behind all human endeavors are the personal and communal struggles with dark matters. Not to mention dealing with issues such as can androids become human and, in the future, will the line between human and machine be erased?
And then there is the fact that Dark Matter is just plain fun to watch. Special effects, action, humor, and human pathos all combine to make a very satisfying stew that leaves us both satisfied and hungering for more.
Dark Matter continues the tradition that great shows of the past started, like Star Trek, Far Scape, Stargate, and Firefly. And lets not forget, that after being cancelled, after only three seasons, Star Trek has gone on to one of the greatest franchises of all time.
Dark Matter makes all the right moves and fills a niche that will always be there to fill. I, for one, hope that the producers see this also, and give this great show another round with their support. I don’t think they’ll regret it.

    1. I couldn’t have said it any better myself!! Amen! “SYFY” channel needs to get/stick to their ‘roots ‘ with EXCELLENT SPACE BACED SHOWS LIKE “Dark Matter”!! I LOVE ❤️ “Dark Matter”, and it is my #1 FAVORITE SciFi show on T.V. In production today!

I eagerly await Friday nights so that I can watch my “Dark Matter”! If it wasn’t for this show, after SYFY cancelled my ALL TIME FAVORITE “Stargate Universe “, I simply would have no reason to watch the SYFY channel, and IF SYFY WERE TO CANCEL “Dark Matter” NOT ONLY WOULD I STOP WATCHING SYFY CHANNEL, BUT I WOULD ALSO ACTIVELY BOYCOTT THE SYFY CHANNEL!!

  10. I love Dark Matter. I don’t see how anyone can call it slow with all the twists and mystery in almost every episode with the occasional cliffhanger. It feels like today’s gen needs non stop action and explosions and can’t appreciate the story and character development. I find it a bit better than KillJoys, probably just taste, but i find the writing and dialogue to be better on Dark Matter. I would hate if this show or Killjoys was cancelled. They both need more advertisement.

  11. Well, now that we are well into Season 03, and (i am) waiting for episode 03 to air, i must say that the storyline has got more interesting with more action than before. Characters have also matured in their acting. If there is one thing that disappoints me is that – why the hell do they air only 13 episodes per year? Atleast couple of episodes per month would not be bad. It is a nightmare waiting for one year for the next season. SHOW US MORE EPISODES !!!!

  12. I have just finished Season 2 of Dark Matter and loved every episode. I agree that both season took a few episodes to get started, but after the first few episode I can’t wait for the next one. This Show has the potential of being up there with Firefly which was stupidly Cancelled early. Hopefully Dark Matter gets a decent chance at hitting it big.

I love the show and can’t wait for season 3.

  13. Oh Holy Mohammad, how many times can a crew member be rescued. A little more diversity of story line & themes would be great, a little less CIA psy ops indoctrination of the population would be good too, people enjoy fantasy not being pawns in the agenda’s of the biggest investors in the film industry, like the CIA.

  14. Dark Matter Season 1 was great, but then they decided they needed to start killing off principal characters in Season 2. That was a bad decision. The heart of the drama is the impromptu family formed by the amnesiac crew. We start rooting for the characters to stay together as a dysfunctional family. However, it’s not possible to feel that bond if they keep killing off characters. The pacing in the second season was slow. With so many huge subplots outstanding, there is no need for filler episodes. The crew needs to come together now with a common, heroic purpose instead of awkwardly reacting to every new situation and each other. Also, please, no more “rescue the crew member” plots.

  15. Marvel is sci fi you know what i hate . In the Marvel comics both X-MEN and AVENGERS universes are connected and always meant to be but because fox has rites to X-MEN and Disney rites to AVENGERS in the film verse they are separate all just because fox and Disney cant work together but things would be better if they just did work together because if the dont how are they ever going to make a film about ULTIMATE ALLIANCE from the comics and video games answer they wont X-MEN and AVENGERS are always in the same universe to me the way Stan Lee made it is the way it best always.

  16. Dark Matter is not crap i have been watching sci fi for 20 years and if anything Defiance does not even compare to it or Stargate SG1 or SGU the problem is people ain’t taught to be open minded i have been watching sci fi since i was 6 years old and the first time star wars was aired i watch it in black and white plus i have seen all the missing episodes of Doctor Who except for the ones they never made so there is a difference if you haven’t watched sci fi since you where a kid of course your not going to think open minded in my oppinion Dark Matter is the best new sci fi to be aired and it ain’t even aired here where i live which shits me i live in Australia where there ain’t not stupid Donald Trump as president i mean who makes a rapest president Dark Matter is way better then Defiance and all ways will be if you a person who likes watching gangster films and watch an episode of sci fi and say it’s shit and for pussies it ain’t plus remember science fiction is science fact dont judge a book by it’s cover just cause things dont go the way you want it to you dont here people who watch sci fi saying gangster films are crap plus Defiance is so not better than Dark Matter like ever signing of.

  17. How do you think defying gravity stacks up to the show you have been discussing? I personally thought it was a great show and should have had at least two more seasons. the Lost rooms could have also been made longer it left too many unanswered questions when it finished.

    1. I personally loved Defying Gravity and thought it showed a lot of promise. It started kind of slow with way too much in the way of soap opera storylines, but then it shifted more heavily to sci fi and really started to develop into a good show.

  18. Love dark matter, it’s a modern farscape/firefly. If it got cancelled I would not watch sci fi anymore. Killjoy is OK but dark matter is better.

  19. The expanse is very good. Great story, well defined characters and great photography. Remind me blade runner style with noir cinema.

  20. Dark Matter is Firefly without the cowboy outfits. Easily the most adult compelling sci fi series of recent years. Dominion, Defiance, pale in its shadow

  21. Personally i liked defiance and love Dark Matter! Im sick of people who love shows like Dominion (Seriously) the decent sci-fi shows keep getting canceled due to loud shouting minority of people who like crap like Dominion i mean how many know-offs of those type of films can u really make.. Keep Dark Matter please as SOME of us like genuine sci-fi adventure programs.

    1. I agree 100%. A lot of today’s shows are nothing but crap! Here is genuine work at its’ best. The creators and producers have come up with original characters (they have nothing to do with “Firefly”). Programs like “Dark Matter” & “Killjoys” are great sci-fi programs that give the viewer an opportunity to escape this crazed world and put you in the characters shoes. I wish these creators of these two programs would come up with more sci-fi series like these two.

  22. DEAR DAMA’s,
Just saw the last episode.. It looks like although the first bomb was spaced a second overload attempt to EOS7 was sucessful in a way that everybody still onboerd was killed in the sabotage. I’m afraid its the end of one of the most wonder SF series lately brewed. Portia Boone and 5 were great. I think Zairon was to become a soap but still interesting in the plot. The team that started out as very cohesive was scattered in the end.
I agree a show like this needs time to grow. To be inpatient about ratings is just a fear factor for what can become good productions in the end. To blow it up, like in this last ep, is just a waste of a space seed that could have grown to an alien tree we will never see to be… too bad.
If a miracle happens.. who knows, there will be a season three.
Later on we’ll see the value of this fantastic show called Dark Matter.
    One can never stop hoping.

      1. I have no fear this will be a great season !
Very glad to hear this news indeed
Jodelle, Melissa, Anthony, Roger, Zoei, Melani and everybody else,
        GIVE IT YOUR BEST!
        Cheers!

  23. i have to be honest. if melissa o’neil leaves the show, i won’t be nearly as interested in Dark Matter. oh my goodness. so difficult to refrain from getting poetical about her.

  24. Dark Matter, in my opinion, best show running now.
if someone liked firefly or farscape, dark matter is even better.
i enjoy their missions, rescue actions, not always been on the winner side and the funny moments.
there is so many possibilities in the story plot and on a small ship they don’t need to like each other …
bit of stargate universe, where opposing team had to work together to survive.

I hope they don’t let the main characters die like in the 100, character was building up bam dead …wtf?
the 100 lost many of them ..
or like in Killjoys Pawter Simms, there was the tension .. ok last ep, so they maybe will build new one
    .. will see next season.

  25. Defiance just threw everyone together with out no full back story on how they got to where they were.

At least with dark matter more came to light as the episodes progressed. I actually enjoy it a hell of a lot more than defiance. Plus the fact of great writers behind it I just hope they give the time it needs to grow and improve.

    1. The actors in Dark Matter has a very much higher pro-level than those in Killjoys !
It is not always the story that make tv-shows interesting. – But the actors and the setting.

Good shows: Dark Matter + Defiance (great) + Dominion (cool actors) … – Firefly was a waste of time, and
it got cancelled quickly. . !

  26. If they cancelled Stargate Universe and are cancelling Ghost Hunters (I know, not even the same thing but syfy’s #1 show) anything can happen.

  27. The first season was promising for Dark Matter, but they have messed up the second season completely. They removed the most human character (sure he wasn’t most’s favourite, but he did contrast well with the other characters and added something important to the overall dynamic) and introduced two of the most boring by the numbers generic wastes of space in cosmic history, the worst of which is the one I call clone Two because she is so similar to Two that she can’t possibly add anything at all to the dynamic of the crew. The other character is a drug addict. That is his entire personality because…lazy writing I guess. The only new character that had any promise was the criminal mastermind guy from the prison that naturally got kicked off the ship for the crime of having a personality.

I liked the original concept, but they’ve blown that too now by introducing crew members that haven’t had the memory wipe. Now it’s all just so uninspiring.

    1. Not to spoil too much, but if that certain character’s death bugged you, you should watch the latest episodes. There’s a reason he hasn’t left the credits. And its a scifi/”complex” reason that involves alternate dimensions. lol

  28. LOL. After reading all these comments. I think all the shows mentioned here are really good shows. Its all a matter of opinion though and if they are getting renewed then apparently the opinion of like out-weighs the opinion of dislike. I agree with the user who stated that shows should be given time to develop. I thought Smallville was extremely boring the first 3 of 4 season but then at some point it started developing an amazing backstory instead of being one of those episode by episode shows that it started out as. And although I agree with the people who like this show, name calling is in itself sophomoric. Reminds me of those people who comment on political stuff on facebook. One person makes statements on how they feel about a certain subject and instead of the next person who disagrees stating why they disagree, they just say OH Your stupid for thinking like that. What a retard or F$%Ktard or whatever else. When I see stuff like that it only makes me think they are the stupid ones. If you dont like something, state why you dont like or vice versa. Otherwise it just sounds like you really dont have your own opinion about it, you just think that way because people around you think that way. No, this isnt completely in reflection to this situation, just the part of name calling. Very childish. Now calling a TV Series Childish and Sophomiric? Hrm, not sure I see how those words are viable in a discussion on how well or poor a series is. Killjoys is based on a comic book. Yes I know, comics are for adults as well, probably more adults purchase them these days than children do. With the internet and the gaming systems these days, kids have many more options to occupy their time than comic books. I personally do enjoy Dark Matter and Killjoys and Defiance and as far as Dominion is concerned, well I watch it but its not in my top favs. Even Walking Dead has become a bit boring to me and that show is ridiculously popular but I like Z Nation better. Im sure Ill get some negative comments on that one. But thats just my opinion. Fear the Walking Dead is ok but its still rather new so we will see where that one goes in the future. Anywho, just my thoughts on these shows and some of these comments. I dont know why people think calling someone names over the internet makes them look smart or cool or would hurt someones feelings, because it doesnt, or shouldnt. And if it does hurt your feelings then you should really look at yourself. Why would you allow anyone to dictate your emotional state, much less some douche bag behind a screen who apparently has low self esteem that they have to put people down over the internet to make themselves feel better about themselves. I for instance am personally not into Star Trek. It bores me. Im more into Doctor Who and Firefly or that British TV Series Misfits. if you like Joseph Gilgan, the vampire in Preacher, you would love Misfits. Thats where I first saw his talent at and he is one funny guy. Its like 4 or 5 seasons and 6-8 episodes per season and is about a meteor that fell to earth and gave certain people in this British Community Super Powers. More comedy than serious. Anywho I respect just about all movies and tv shows. And Ill give any show or movie a chance and watch it if I have time to. I even watched that movie Space Cop. And let me tell you, that was a HORRIBLY Written and Acted movie. Patton Oswalt was in that movie and hes kind of a funny guy. He has played in TONS of stuff and I just couldnt believe he was in, or rather I couldnt believe he would actually be in a movie that horrible. You know those movies that are so horrible and stupid yet funny you still like them no matter how poorly written or done. Well this isnt even in that category. They really should have had someone else play SpaceCop. Anywho this is getting long and I could keep going. Check out SpaceCop. Also if you have Amazon Prime you should watch Shadow Zombie. It should be free to watch it you have it. I was in it and my best friend stars in it and my other friend wrote it and directed it. Even had another friend of ours make action figures of us with a card and bubble and everything. The tattoo scene was done in my room and Im the one who answered the phone. Would have been in more of it but I was at Space Camp with my daughter and my buddy’s son during filming and then in Panama City Beach FL during the 4th of July. So I missed out on the first set of filming. Anywho, its an ok movie, much better than SpaceCop lol.

  29. I really loved that serie, the actors are great, the story, and I love the theme musics that they use! I really wish there’d be a second season!

  30. Bring back Dominion..i hate it when you people don’t let shows finish..at least let season 3 finish it if you want it to end ffs.

  31. Dark Matter’s first season was very Good, not too complex, but still very good. I also liked battle star gallactica (which obviously had a much bigger budget & more actors & complexity).

    1. From what i recall B.S.G wasn’t cancelled. The creators didn’t want the series to drag out or have anyone be able to look back and say ” oh B.S.G was good u should watch season 1,2,5,7,8. So they did it in four seasons and was great, won tons of awards. The original B.S.G was only a season long, so i feel they did a great some expanding that universe.

  32. I’m glad to see “Dark Matter” coming back for another season. The writing was solid enough, the characters grew on me , the production and effects looked good, the acting and direction worked, and the show managed to avoid the “Sharknado” style of self-conscious cheese that the SyFy channel has been using as its trademark identity for some time. Sure, “Dark Matter” had some cosmetic similarities to other, perhaps more well-loved Sci-Fi shows, but the show quickly developed a personality of its own, and I felt like it deserved a chance to keep running.

  33. As one of the earlier commenters mentioned, it can take a while for a show to truly develop and catch on. I am a fan of the whole Star Trek universe, but even so I have to admit that the original series often had plot lines that made no sense often involving technology that made even less sense along with acting that could occasionally be somewhat heavy handed. I doubt that it would have survived today’s judging criteria for renewal. Still the stories were generally entertaining, often had pertinent social commentary, and are now considered classic science fiction. Owing to the wide variety of both past and present science fiction available today the majority of new science fiction is often based around concepts or plot lines that have been touched upon somewhere previously so the question is not whether or not any part of the show is derivative in any way, but rather does it provide a new enough mix to be entertaining and enjoyable. Additionally most science fiction often does require a little suspension of disbelief in order to avoid getting too hung up on the small details that may not make a lot of sense upon close examination. Anyway – I enjoyed Dark Matter and am glad it will get the chance to develop further. I really liked Defiance. I found the characters and story lines interesting and the acting generally quite decent. I admit to being a little disappointed with the quick wrap up at the end and would far rather have seen the show continue for many seasons to come. I didn’t mind dominion. I thought some of its characters and plot lines could have used a little more development, but am disappointed it was cancelled as I was curious to see where it might go next.

  34. Defiance was shit. I take back everything bad that I said about the first Stargate Universe. The second season picked up. I understand though. I understand that if a show is too good it could give away real tv like honey booboo, ghost hunters, the “historylol” channel, Foosball etc. for the shams they are. They must walk a fine line between kind of interesting, brain rotting utter stupidity and forced PC multisexual relations. Bah, when can we just start our own sci fi reality starting with althea rebellion we need. These mediums only distract us from that obvious conclusion anyhow. Imagine what could be accomplished free from our broken political and economic systems? Ah, a guy can dream.

  35. I was apprehensive about both Killjoys and Dark Matter because every sci fi show that has come along the last 10 years have done nothing for me. The abomination that was the cancellation of Firefly just about did me in from getting attached to any thing science fiction on TV. Unfortunately sci fi is more niche than mainstream for the most part.
I am glad to report that Dark Matter, at least for me is top of the heap. I would rank it even after just one season in my top 3 or 4 all time. I was so relieved to see it renewed. Killjoys I watch but would not have been broken hearted had it not be renewed. I love everything about Dark Matter; the humor, the action (not overdone), the acting, the actors, the characters the premise, everything. The one thing I was worried about was too much time on the amnesia plot and not enough time on stand alone stories. Not the case. And the world of storytelling on this show is wide open.

I can not wait till next season starts because it is currently my favorite show on TV bar none. 1,2,3,4,5—-6? Android.

  36. I am a 50 year old woman, yes I watched the original Star Trek but more than that I loved ST TNG much better. Along with Stargate, Firefly, etc. This show needs time to grow. If Firefly had more time it would have been so good. Do you know what people said when Star Trek TNG first started? It was literally trashed, over and over. Networks nowadays do not give shows enough time to develop. Out of all of the new Syfy shows in the past 3-4 years, Dark Matter is the ONLY one that reminds me of some of the great Scifi shows of the past, yet it is fresh and entertaining. Other than Wil Wheaton being in the episode which is kind of a jump the shark sort of thing (and yes I am old enough to remember exactly WHERE That saying came from) I think this is a solid show that should be allowed to grow.

    BTW: I LOVE Wil Wheaton….on Big Bang Theory…and that’s about it….

    1. Agree 100%. Cast and characters need time. The actor’s role appropiation offer to theveriters and director a mature platform for solid storytelling.

  37. I am so tired of great shows getting cancelled before really getting started. Dark Matter and Killjoy are the only 2 ‘real’ sci fi (as in, takes place in space, based around a spaceship and its crew, adventures with alien races on alien planets). So some themes may be recycled, so what. Zombie shows are all over the place. Some of us aren’t looking for deep philosophical shows, we just want light fun to watch adventures based in space. If they cancel these shows, there goes the only actual sci fi shows on the air. 12 monkeys is boring, I lost interest in the 3rd show, Znation doesn’t compare to Walking Dead and competes with iZombie. I actually look forward to Friday night at Sy Fy again BECAUSE of Dark Matter and Killjoy. If they don’t come back, I’m sticking to CW.

  38. It’s a excellent show, so far I like it as much firefly and cowboy beepbop. If they have a season two I hope to see the show surpass those.

  39. I love Killjoys, but find Dark Matter a little boring….As for Dominion…this season has not kept my interest and last season only caught me about half way through….I will shed no tears if it is not renewed…But my Defiance….I LOVE IT!! I will riot if they don’t bring it back….lol

  40. I think Dark Matter gives us a good taste of what would have happened had The StarGate franchise remained with these people. They are of One Formula and let the good times roll mentality, Im glad M.G.M took the Brand and gave it back to the birth parents…having said that, they need to delve in to new experiences and draw from that well spring rather than live in yesterday where any new viewers who do enjoy the program do so because they haven’t seen the shows this show is recycling. Kind of like all the crap music that has come out in the last decade and a half ( apologies to the half dozen of you who do not suck ) and no offense to the actors.

    1. Well excuse me. I just happen to love all the stargate series and i like dark matter. I am sorry you fell dark matter is not worth your time but my advice reads thus: if you do not enjoy the show, do not watch it.

    2. If by “formula” YOU mean SG-Universe where the formula was… let’s get on a planet with exotic for ep 1 and on a desert for ep 2. That was insanely dumb. However it has almost nothing in common with DM show since there you have cheap… very cheap environment…. rare CGI… but after the first few episodes… actually kind of liked it….

Actually that is a good story driven show where I even began to neglect its cheap prod. costs. And if it’s true about the Space Channel and now someone mentioned NETFLIX – I think they covered the costs up so J. Mallozzi could further develop the interesting story (for me at least).

That in no way means that he (J.M.) could escape from the SG cliche. But this here is a genuine another story.

  41. “Besides…I really wouldn’t know how to respond to such an eloquent argument such as the one you presented.”

You said it. In years to come, I look forward to those inevitable moments when you’ll look back on your words and shake your head, wondering at how stupid you were in your youth.

  42. While I haven’t missed an episode of “Dark Matter”, it is at best a very ordinary, unoriginal scifi series that has ripped off large chunks of “Serenity”. Both “Dark Matter” and “Killjoys” are quite honestly very disappointing, and I frequently end up channel surfing during the shows to see what else is on.

    1. I completely agree with you. I had looked forward to both and both have fallen terribly flat, childish and extremely disappointing. I am surprised if they finish the initial run..much less get picked up for a second.

    2. Sums it up. If Dark Datter isn’t doing too badly it’s solely because of people like me who tuned in because of who was behind it (despite their reputations). I thought the first few episodes were very ordinary but had quite a bit of promise and a potentially interesting premise. I also liked most of these actors in each of the 10,000 other scifi projects they’ve been in. That promise has not been delivered upon. Instead, the cliched characters, derivative plots and lack of world-building have gotten worse rather than better.

I’m really starting to find the tendency of modern television to just throw elements together quickly without any solid show development increasingly annoying. There’s no way we’re going to get the next Buffy, Farscape or SG1 out of this kind of shallow planning. I mean, at least half of the episodes aired so far have had plots ripped blatantly from other shows – usually Firefly and Farscape – without the characteristaion, dialogue, plotting or, frankly, the fun of those shows.

Haven’t watched Killjoys yet but I’m anticipating much of the same

      1. Dark Matter improved from as the season went on and I am anticipating the second season. I liked Firefly and do see the similarities and differences. Your take on show development may be correct. I just watch Netflix not TV. Thanks.

    3. what you call unoriginal, i call “classic”. lots of classic sci-fi riffs. that’s what i like. i can see some similarities to Firefly (which i actually consider good) but for some reason it reminds me more of Farscape.

  43. Both these shows have about as much chance of renewal as Heavy Metal did last year. They do not take themselves “seriously”…why should anyone else. Both are poor, sophomoric…virtually comedic works. I do not understand how… or WHY… Syfy network would produce such fine series as Dominion and Defiance… And then release this crap.
Jodelle is the only…ONLY..positive or promising result of any of this nonsense.

    1. Oh, you circle-jerkin’ “cognoscenti”: You call Dark Matter and Killjoys “poor, sophomoric, virtually comedic works”… and then exalt Dominion and Defiance as “fine series” by comparison?

When I have the rare privilege of encountering people such as you, I must ask—for the sake of science—“do you know how stupid you sound?”

      1. I assure you sir, he does not. At least it’s decentlty written and has some interesting characters. Dominion and Defiance … jeez

      2. Killjoy and Dark Matter are very poor. More pc fem dom garbage trying to get brownie points. Scandal is on the same field.

      3. i agree completely dominion is laughable at best dark matter is (for me) a modern western along the lines of firefly which was stupidly canceled

    2. Doinion is a joke. The only reason it’s still in play is sex appeal. The story is bullshit. And your opinion was rendered null and void setting it on the same level as defiance. Go read some books. You’ve obviously forgotten what “good” is lol

    3. Wait… you’re saying Defiance and Dominion are good shows?

Please tell me what you’re smoking and where you get it because I seriously want some.

      1. I miss irisa very much. Defiance wasn’t bad they got passed the season 2 stuff and turned it around just to cancel it. BRING BACK IRISA!

    4. I like Dark Matter. I just finished watching the first season on Netflix. I also enjoyed Firefly. I wish the networks would give a show enough time for a show to develop rather than axing it if it’s not an immediate hit. Cheers, Star Trek TNG, and Seinfeld were nearly cancelled after the first season.

      1. Unfortunately Dark matter has gone to shit by second season, hope they cancel it as a lesson learned on how not to progress a show

        1. Season 2 of dark matter has built what was a great show into am amazing gripping show. To not have enjoyed season 2 is to not know what good sci fi is!

          1. AMEN, BROTHER, AMEN!! Dark Matter ROCKS!! I LOVE ❤️ DARK MATTER! IMHO, those who don’t, wouldn’t know good SciFi if it bit them in the rear!!!

        2. season 2, like season 1 started off boring and slow but was very gripping from around episode 3 onward. both seasons became more appealing to me as they progressed. this is why i just hate that they left that cliff-hanger for the season 2 finale. i fear it won’t be handled well when they resume writing/shooting. it feels like the writers/production team go on vacation and have trouble getting back to work.

i really wish they would double the length of the seasons or end the seasons on “calm note” and then start the seasons with a bang. for instance, season 2 episode 12 would have been a great finale and episode 13 would have been a great season 3 starter.

        3. Season 2 is what took Dark Matter from an okay show that required the credibility from hard hitting cameo appearances to be relevant, to the starts of something with true potential. After season one I liked it, but wasn’t sold on it being anymore than a B rate sci-fi series. By the end of season two this show has put itself on its way up to the ranks of Firefly.

          1. Yes!!! this was a huge disappointment.

I like Dark Matter. Its story arc is not linear, and there are obvious throwbacks to SG episodes like “window of opportunity” and “the daedalus variations” among others. The similarities to Firefly are apparent too, but in a broad sense that they fight the military and do odd jobs while helping people.

Killjoys is ok, but reeks of Lost Girl…

Defiance was painful to get through, and Dominion even harder…..

    5. Dark matter is leagues better than defiance! It’s smart edgy well put together tv gold! Great cast and interesting thought provoking story lines. Defiance looks like early doctor who visually with lazy set design and character development.

    6. i agree that Dark Matter is somewhat sophomoric sometimes and more so than Killjoys. however, i really enjoy it and couldn’t really get into Killjoys. i couldn’t get into Defiance. Never checked out Dominion.

    7. What in the name of adventure and mystery are you talking about? The writers of this show are doing a fantastic job of bringing these characters to life and gradually revealing to the viewer a little bit about their life history. Not only are the writers, but the actors are doing an excellent job of giving these characters a sense of coming together and wanting to survive their old past lives and start anew. I complement the entire cast and producers of this program and say continue the great work.

    8. Look how well star gate sg1 did becuz they didn’t take themselves too serious and lastest. 10 years same with Atlantis 5 years while Stargate did take themselves too serious and the show bombed
