Why Did It End?  This series developed a devoted fanbase and a lot of good buzz, but never a large audience.  The Canadian Showcase Channel decided to end it but gave it a fourth season to wrap up its storylines.  Afterward, series creator Simon Barry had the following to say about possibly continuing the story: “I would love to explore what happens to these characters after Continuum in other mediums. It’s too early to say how that may happen, or what medium it might happen in, but the ability to build on the Continuum universe and mythology is not something that has to happen necessarily in TV or film form, but it might.”  You can read the full interview with Barry at this link.

  1. So many people are wondering how and why Continuum ended if it was so good. Fortunately, I was a big fan of this show and tracked the situation at the time. I remember everything I discovered. The first thing I can reveal is the end of this show (as in the events that caused it) happened between seasons 3 and 4. Not sure if the world at large is ready to hear this now compared to then but some asked here so here goes…

Who remembers a past Hollywood scandal called The Fappening? This scandal happened while the show was on hiatus between season 3 and 4. Continuum’s lead actress Rachel Nichols was involved in the scandal deeply. She had her private data stolen and then released while the scandal was hot on the Hollywood wire. It was at this time that things got very heated and controversial at the production companies working on Continuum. After Rachel got caught in The Fappening the production companies wanted nothing to do with Rachel or the show.

They gave Simon Barry 6 episodes as a favor because he begged and pleaded just to let him wrap up the story in one way or the other. Rachel is still getting punished today for her Fappening involvement by Hollywood as someone who had her private data stolen and released by hackers during the scandal. Other actresses caught in the scandal as well are still going through the same thing as I type this.

Many people in Hollywood have covered up everything I just revealed, using excuses like: “We’re protecting Rachel.”, “We’re protecting Simon”, “We’re protecting the production companies behind the show.” and “The Fappening had NOTHING to do with it. Please shut up about that.” Truth is? They aren’t protecting anybody more than they are placing a perfect front on the subject of the end of the show to make it look like everybody got away from this show unscathed…which is wrong.

For those who think I am blowing smoke up their keesters? Look at Rachel’s iMDB filmography since Continuum finished in 2015 and then look at filmographies of castmates on the show like Roger Cross, Erik Knudsen, Lexa Doig, Magda Aponowicz, William B. Davis, Luvia Petersen, Victor Webster, Stephen Lobo, Jennifer Spence and Tony Amendola as examples. You’ll see all those names got more things (as in work projects) to do since Continuum ended and got better quality work than Rachel has.

In fact, as I said and will reiterate: she is still being punished by Hollywood for her involvement in The Fappening to this day and her career has never really fully recovered from where it was when Continuum was hot and had momentum. I know for those who visit this page that if this comment is published without censorship or editing you will be stunned by what you’re reading here but…it is the stone cold truth of the matter from everything I tracked and discovered starting between seasons 3 & 4 of the show.

  2. This show is one of the most amazing and eye opening ones till date. I watched all 4 seasons twice, loved season 3 a lot, it shows what is currently going on, big companies buying media houses and the media showing what is good for the companies and keeping the common man in the dark, keeping them engaged in useless news and controversies. Far ahead of its time, no doubts.

  3. Just finished binge watching as a late runner up as it’s 2018. I queried why there weren’t any more episodes and found this link. I agree with other posters that I too find it strange about the cancellation of this Scifi series. There are certainly questions that need answers. The said research on stat number of viewers vs popularity of the show, does not make sense. Excuse the pun but there seems to be a glitch in the fabric of time on this one… Perhaps the idea of futuristic revolutionary terrorism is about to collide sooner than we thought.

  4. I saw the series in over 2 till 3 weeks. The end was rather disappointing. So Many questions , so little Answers. I saw the series on Netflix and tel everyone this is a serie you have to see. It’s how the future could be and what responsibility’s we have. I can not imagine this show had to little watchers. Please make a film as a final of a follow up. The end was not satisfying. A very direct and nothing sayong end. Sorry About that because the serie was very good.

  5. Well, I do not watch a lot of TV, but this show got my attention from the first episode. I have a couple of minor complains regarding performance, however the story is awesome. I agree with David Schiffer. There is something very shady here. Some giggling show like “2 broke girls”, that is not even funny, is surviving 6 seasons. And they canceled Continuum because of lack of audience? Oh, common! Maybe something did not work with actors, but if not, I support the assumption that Continuum has presented too powerful idea.

  6. Why is my comment being moderated? I demand an answer. We have freedom of speech so you have no right whatsoever to sensor me or anyone else.

    1. No censorship here. All first time commentors go through the moderation process because there are far too many spammers out there. Additional comments will not go through a moderation delay, but please remain civil and show good manners.

  7. I think that is a lie, no, that is not true, I know this is a lie. The Continuum series was canceled for reasons we can only speculate on. The show was the most popular show internationally and the Canadian marked, if it was slow, would not have changed the financial success of the show. Have a look at the stats at IMDB on it popularity, those stats don’t lie, scifi com or however is behind this misinformation most certainly do.

So why did they cancel the show? Simple, it opposed globalism. That’s all there is to it.

    1. No lies here. Just passing along the information based on the research we did on the show. If there was a dark and nefarious reason for cancelling Continuum, we welcome you to present the evidence.
