Description: Being Human is a re-imagining of the acclaimed BBC original series that follows four 20-something roommates: A ghost (Sally), a vampire (Aidan) and two werewolves (Josh and Nora) who are struggling to keep their dark secrets from the world, while also helping each other navigate the complexities of living double lives. Why Was It Cancelled? This series was one of the surprise cancellations of the 2013-14 season. Its ratings were better than either Haven or Helix (both of which were renewed during that season) and about the same as it had seen the previous year. When the cancellation announcement came, series star Sam Witwer tweeted that the wrap up of the show was planned and done for “artistic reasons”. But since when does one of the U.S. networks ever end a series early for artistic reasons? There may have been a high licensing fee from the BBC for the show or its home network may not have wanted the U.S. version to extend too far beyond where the original series wrapped up. But it appears that more than just ratings lead to this show ending after four seasons. The fans, though, seemed satisfied with when and where Being Human decided to bow out.
