Description: Following a 250-year slumber, ICHABOD CRANE (Tom Mison) devoted his life and knowledge of the supernatural to defeating the demonic forces that plagued Sleepy Hollow in the present day. But following the climactic events of last season, Crane’s world was turned upside down after the death of his partner and fellow Witness, Abbie Mills. He was then led out of town by a mysterious group promising to put him in charge of an evil-fighting organization created hundreds of years ago by none other than George Washington.

Crane now finds himself in an all-new city working with all-new allies, as he embarks on his most important mission yet: To save our nation’s capital from otherworldly threats that promise harm, not only to our country and our people, but to the soul of democracy itself. Season Four promises the beloved twists, thrills, humor, and “twistory” for which SLEEPY HOLLOW is known, along with new and surprising adventures for Crane, JENNY MILLS (Lyndie Greenwood) and other favorites. Why Was It Cancelled? This show was considered a hit when it debuted for its first season, but saw its numbers decline and that continued into its second year.  Still, it had strong support from fans and trended well on the social networks and FOX elected to keep it around for a third season.  It was shifted to Friday nights and its numbers continue to slide, suggesting that it was headed to cancellation.  But FOX chose to bring it back for a fourth year and they put it through a reboot of sorts. The claim at the time was that it played well internationally and was already profitable for the network. But the linear ratings slipped even further in the show’s fourth season and fan support waned after the major character death at the end of the third year.  With 62 episodes, the show is still well short of the 88 threshold that the syndication market prefers, especially considering that Sleepy Hollow has had either 13 or 18 episode orders for each of its season.  So FOX apparently decided not to keep the show around for a fifth season even though they previously indicated that it is profitable for the network.

  1. I love this show, I saw season two first which hooked me into it, and I’ve watched every episode up till now, due my current work schedule I have to catch it on demand sometimes, but I’m watching. I’ve yet to be bored with all the creatures, plot twists, and character dynamics. There really is so much more to the story now that we know the witnesses were determined from birth/blood lines and I would love to see where it goes.

  2. Sleepy Hollow is 1 of only a couple I’d actually watch with commercials i dvr all of them great cast and plots I’d be pissed if it gets canceled and all these other shit shows are getting renewed

  3. Fox has invested 3 seasons to this terrific show and if they hold on it will rise again in ratings as it returns to its origins. The writing and acting is superb, and it’s one of only a few truly diverse casts. Don’t give up on it. The move to Friday where there is little competition in this genre could make a positive difference.

    1. Even better would be to move it back to Monday right after Gotham. That was 2 great shows back to back…don’t know why FOX felt the need to split the two? Both of those shows together made our household exclusively a FOX night!

  4. do not cancel!!! love this show! also bring back witches of east end these are literally the only 2 shows that I watch!

    1. Even though Sleepy Hollow’s numbers have been down this season, it is not in danger of cancellation. FOX in general is struggling and this is actually one of the net’s better performing shows at the moment.
