Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
This week will be a busy one with several premieres as well as the television debut of a lost Doctor Who episode, plus coverage from Comic-Con. On Wednesday, BBC America will run the six-part episode “Shada” from the Tom Baker era. That one was started but never completed due to a strike, and it has since been reconstructed with animated segments and the original cast filling in the dialog (you can see the trailer at this link). Also this week, Syfy’s Wynonna Earp and Killjoys have their third and fourth season debuts respectively starting at 9 PM EST on Friday. The former show will have a preview run of its premiere on Monday at 11 PM EST. On Wednesday, the second of Netflix’s animated Godzilla movies has its debut, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle. Also, the long-awaited second season of Cinemax’s supernatural drama Outcast is also supposed to premiere this Friday at 10 PM EST, but the TV Guide schedule currently shows a repeat of the Season 1 finale airing then. I will keep an eye on that and post updates during the week.
Lastly, Conan O’Brien will be making his annual trek to Comic-Con with episodes airing Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Following is the guest list for each of those nights:
