The Charts: The Flash Sneaks Into the Top 25 Based on Live+3 Ratings

flash-the-cw-cancelledThe CW’s The Flash made it into the Top 25 based on the Live+3 ratings for the week of April 27th thru May 3rd (that data has a one week delay) for the first time that I am aware of this season.  It only barely made it in (at the Number 25 slot), and the Live+3 data has only been available sporadically this season, so I’m not certain if it achieved that mark earlier in the year (likely with its debut, though I didn’t see those numbers).  But the fifth place network’s big hit continues to nip at the heals of the Big Four.  With a third DC superhero show on the way to The CW next season (Legends of Tomorrow), that network is definitely experiencing a resurgence and it has done it by filling up its schedule with mostly sci fi / fantasy entries (whereas the other broadcast networks seem to be shying away from the genre going into next year).  Apart from that, we see most of the usual suspects on the charts for last week and the Live+3 charts from the prior week.

Note that this will be the last edition of this column in the current format.  With less chart data available now that General Sentiment has bowed out of reporting on the social network activity and with the Live+3 numbers only sporadically available, I’m finding that there is not too much of significance to report here on a weekly basis.  But the chart rankings for the shows that do manage to place into the Top 10/25 will be merged into the new and improved version of our Cancellation Watch column which will bow next week.  That should allow for a more efficient means of reporting the data as it will all be in one place.

Here is the full look at chart activity for genre shows for the week of May 4th thru 10th:
