Sci Fi TV News of Note:
Supergirl may have been a flop at the Box Office, but that is not slowing down plans for an extension of the DC Universe. There are reports that a television series is in the works based on the technological crime fighter Mr. Terrific, last seen in the 2025’s Superman. Not much information is available at this point, but the assumption is that Edi Gathegi will be returning to the role. In addition, Allan Heinberg (The Sandman) has been pegged as writer for the series. This one is in the early development stages so stay tuned for further updates. Another spin-off from the Superman movie is already in the works with DC Crime which will focus on Jimmy Olsen.
Netflix is working on a live-action adaptation of the Persona video game series. Variety gives the following description of the property:
Persona has proven to be a wildly popular RPG franchise. While the plot varies game to game, they typically focus on Japanese high school students who must go through normal daily routines and build and maintain friendships while also dealing with supernatural threats.
Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Robert Atwood of 21 Laps will be executive producing the series.
In casting news, Millie Brady (The Last Kingdom) and Pilou Asbaek (Foundation) have come onboard the upcoming untitled Monster-verse prequel series that will focus on Colonel Lee Shaw (played by Wyatt Russell).
In production news, filming has wrapped on the pilot for Ryan Coogler’s X-Files reboot/revival, and Hulu will now be looking at that and deciding if it will get a series order.

Vikram (Callum McGowan), meanwhile, must surrender his lone-wolf instincts to fully embrace team mentality. Further complicating matters, the group unexpectedly crosses paths with legendary magician Merlin (Dominic Monaghan), who challenges the very foundation of the Library and tempts them to break its most sacred rule. Season 2 premieres August 2nd.
