Sci Fi TV News of Note:

A Life is Strange TV series is in the works at Amazon’s Prime Video based on the video game of the same name. Following is the description from Deadline:

[The series] follows Max, a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe. As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life or death choice that will impact them forever.

The live-action series was created by Charlie Covell (End of the F***ing World, KAOS), and he will serve as executive producer and showrunner. No cast members have been announced at this time, and the show will likely be looking at a late 2026 or early 2027 premiere.

The mysterious new series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan–which will stream on Apple TV+–finally has a synopsis:

Pluribus follows Carol Sturka, a best-selling historical romance author who calls her work “mindless crap.” But her world is upended when, in the middle of a promotional book tour, a mysterious virus spreads across New Mexico, transforming humanity into a mass of cheerful, content individuals. Unlike everyone else, Carol is somehow immune and trudges through this altered reality with a mix of rage and confusion.

The series is set to premiere on November 7th.

The Creative Arts Emmys were announced this weekend with several wins going to sci fi and fantasy shows. Among those that picked up one or more Emmys are HBO Max’s The Penguin, Apple TV+’s Severance, Disney+’s Andor, Netflix’s Arcane and Love, Death + Robots, and Prime Video’s The Boys. You can see the full rundown of the winners at this link.

Disney+ has not officially announced a third season renewal for Daredevil: Born Again yet, but that is showing up in the Production Weekly listings. Also moving into production are The Institute Season 2 and a Knight Rider movie, and you can read more about all of those at this link.

Halo: The Series will be joining Netflix on October 1st. Both seasons will be available to stream at that time, and there is no indication that the show will be leaving Paramount+.
