Sci Fi TV Premieres for August 2025: Alien Earth, Wednesday Season 2, Peacemaker Season 2, and More

Sci Fi TV Premieres: Here is a rundown of all the new and returning sci fi and fantasy TV shows that will have a premiere in August 2025. This information is based on premieres announced at the time of this posting (though check back for updates) and will include trailers if available. Note that premiere dates and times can change with little or no notice.

August kicks off the 2025-2026 season, and there are seven sci fi TV premieres scheduled as of this writing. Probably the most anticipated premiere is FX’s Alien: Earth which acts as a prequel series to that franchise. Also of note is the return of Netflix’s mega-hit Wednesday for its second season, and the long-awaited premiere of the fourth season of Amazon’s Upload as well as the even longer-awaited debut of the second season of Peacemaker on HBO Max. And it is possible that a few more shows can join the list by the end of the month, so check back for updates. Eyes of Wakanda NEW SERIES

Eyes of Wakanda, August 1st, Disney+: Wakandan warriors throughout history go on dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts. All episodes will be available on the premiere date.


Wednesday Season 2

Wednesday, August 6th, Netflix: Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t. The first four eps of Season 2 will premiere on August 6th, and the remaining four will premiere September 3rd.


Demascus NEW SERIES

Demascus, August 7th, Tubi TV: A 33-year-old Black man on a know-thyself mission begins an experimental immersion therapy that sends him into alternate timelines of his own life. The first episode will be available on the premiere date.


Alien: Earth NEW SERIES

Alien: Earth, August 12th, FX/Hulu: In the year 2120, a hybrid human–synthetic named Wendy leads a mission to investigate a crashed alien freighter on Earth, uncovering deadly new lifeforms alongside the classic Xenomorph threat. As mega-corporations vie for control, the team faces a terrifying fight for survival against both the creatures and the corporate powers that unleashed them. Airs Tuesdays at 8 PM EST on FX, and new episodes will be available same day and time on Hulu.


Peacemaker Season 2

Peacemaker, August 21st, HBO Max: Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands. The first three episodes will be available on the premiere date, and it will release one per week after that.


Invasion Season 3

Invasion, August 22nd, Apple TV+: Perspectives collide for the first time, as the series’ main characters are brought together to work as a team on a critical mission to infiltrate the alien mothership. The ultimate apex aliens have finally emerged, rapidly spreading their deadly tendrils across our planet. It will take all our heroes working together, using all their experience and expertise, to save our species. This show will release one episode per week.


Upload Season 4


Upload, August 25th, Prime Video: In Season 4, sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview and the world. On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time. This show will release one episode per week.
